    Dunlap drill press question

Ive had it apart a number of times. The 2 pulley set screws are tight, and riding on the flats on the sleeve. The sleeve and pulley moves about 3/16" up and down. There is a snap ring on bottom of sleeve, that prevents it from moving up.

    Dunlap drill press question

When I advance the quill on my Dunlap dp, the step pulley drops about 3/16". Is this normal? Any owner that can check theirs? Got press from orig. Owner, and it runs real smooth. Thanks

    Welder wiring info needed

I will never be using the welder in the shop. It's my wood shop with lots of sawdust! To wire another outlet, I believe I would need another 240 breaker, plus wire if NM romex is not allowed in conduit in the shop. I'm trying to do the KISS method, but by code if possible. Here's a couple more...

    Welder wiring info needed

The outlet works fine with the welder, as well as planer. I measured the cord on the welder again (20') and realized if I moved the welder right next to the wall of the building, under the "carport" area, the cord will reach the outlet, if I drill a hole in the wall. It's 6ga NM-B romex I have...

    Welder wiring info needed

Its an old Forney 240 amp (?) Welder. I never use more than 140 amps. I want to be able to unplug, so I can plug in my wood planer. Don't want to have to add another breaker.

    Welder wiring info needed

My metal building has an outlet for a welder. I want to move the welder outside, to a carport area. The additional wiring needs to be 20' long. I want to use the exsisting outlet in the shop. What type wire? In conduit? Can I just make up an extension cord? It will have to go thru a wall. Would...

Safety 101- Anybody wanting to share their safety tips when using their tools??

Never use a non impact flex socket, especially a deep one. That might save you from having to have 4 stitches in your eyeball. While you watch! Oh yeah. wear safety glasses

Dryer plug / outlet to welder adapter.

This caught my eye, as I have the same planer. Would using the 15 amp planer, be a problem, on a 30 amp circuit, if the planer had an elec. problem? Would it maybe melt wires in the planer, instead of tripping the breaker?

    Bending spring with heat

Forgot to say, that I tried a cold bend. lol. It just snapped. While looking for a spring, I found a place selling the cord reel. I don't think I will buy a new one, at $1800+ !!!!! Guess it was worth the $25 I paid at a yard sale!

    Bending spring with heat

As there was enough spring to try numerous methods, I just clamped the end in the vice, and heated area with a small oxy/acet. torch, and bent it. As there are always a number of coils of spring against the end, it doesn't get much pressure, until the cord is extended far. It's working. Time...

    Bending spring with heat

My shop cord reel broke the end off of the return spring. it's a flat would spring, like a recoil starter spring, but a lot heavier. It's 11/16" wide and .050 thick. I need to bend a "u" shape in the end of it. I know I have to heat it to bend it but have a few questions: 1. Should I heat it...

    Lets Talk about power washers

I agree about gpm and Honda motors. Ihe first pressure washer I used, was a rental unit a tenant, who rented tool, brought home for me to use. It had the Honda GX commercial motors. He told me if it didnt start in 2-3 pulls it needs repair. Since then I have bought a few Honda powered machines...
