Picked up some solid core doors today

I posted this in another thread. I have been using a solid core door atop two 2-drawer file cabinets for my electronics test bench. Put industrial steel shelves atop the door.

    Am I a Craig's list wishful thinker?

Don't give up yet. It can take a week or a few weeks before something sells on Craigslist. If it sells too fast, you may be pricing it too low. ;) It took me a week of advertising on Craigslist to sell some Carhartt items recently and I still have one item left.

What Enderes are you buying on 2/14....

I couldn't wait for Enderes Day and bought their ratcheting screwdriver and super long #1 Phillips screwdriver at full price. Their 4-in-1 screwdrivers have gotten more use than any other screwdrivers at my house.

    Sears, their business Ideas.

FWIW, I saw an economic reporter on TV today explain that Sears, Target, JC Penney and other stores which cater mainly to the middle class were not growing because the middle class has been shrinking. He pointed out that this trend began before the 2008 Great Recession. The lower priced Dollar...

    Electronics Workbench

I used two 2-drawer file cabinets (not shown in the photo) to support a solid core door as my electronics work bench. Atop the bench are two halves of industrial steel shelving unit which hold some of my test equipment. Less frequently used test equipment, scopes, and power supplies are on...

    Locking pliers - unique modifications?

I installed a split ring (aka key ring) over the bolt in my smallest Vise-Grips and tied a paracord loop to it. The paracord lanyard makes it easier to retrieve the Vise-Grips when I carry it in a belt holster or pocket.

    Ratcheting Screwdrivers,what do you have?

I searched for "show and tell" thread devoted to ratcheting screwdrivers and this old thread was the most appropriate. Shown in the photo (top to bottom) are a Creative Products Easydriver, a smaller Speedball Easydriver, Craftsman 941464 B, Williams WRS-1, and Enderes KV-1. The large...

    Enderes Tool back in business!

The Enderes KV-1 ratcheting screwdriver is aptly suited for general purpose home owner type repairs. The excellent assortment of various size Phillips and slotted bits is just what I wanted. I probably won't be using the square recess bits. The 2 Torx bits may come in handy, although I have a...

    Enderes Tool back in business!

I bought a couple of new Enderes screwdrivers directly from Northbridge Tools recently, including this 2301HY ratcheting screwdriver. The gearing is a coarse 10 tooth setup. The unique method of bit storage in the handle grooves is clever and covered by patent: US_5881615 Bits are held in...

    Pegboard and loose hooks

Recommend you bite the bullet and replace the 1/8" hooks with 1/4" hooks. Paint your pegboard. The board absorbs the paint and the holes shrink slightly. That helps stabilize the 1/4" hooks. I painted all our pegboards white which reflects light a lot better than the original dark brown color.

LED flashlights, Donegan Optical OptiVisor, a stereoscopic microscope, and magnifying glasses have been a big help as my eyesight slipped deeper into the "senior citizen" zone.

Stupid Things You See People at Work Do That Make You Shake Your Head

A Sears auto technician touched a long wrench between both terminals on the DieHard battery in my truck to "test" it. My dad passed away and I found my truck leaking oil when I was preparing to drive 900 miles home to the funeral. A PEP Boys oil change tech had cross threaded the drain plug on...
