How would you build a 40x64x16 garage in New England?

I agree. I have a 6" poured concrete with all the rebar in a 4 stall and over time my concrete has cracked. Also, you can add 2x6 wood pieces between the studs for added anchor points after sheetrock. Just make sure to note where they are.:geek:

    Air hose probs

I searched alot of threads about airhoses but couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. Bought this 3/8 " airhose reel at least 8 years ago. I believe its from H Freight. The hose is splitting at the end. Is there a way to cut the end and fix it or should I buy another length of hose and...

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Drivesitfar thanks for the reply. That pic was taken right after installing the aluminum pegboard on the wall. Right now you can hardly see either bench or countertop. Project after project fills them both up quick. The metal kitchen cabinets were a great find. Especially for a garage and the 1...

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Almost went through all 50 pages on this thread. But couldn't do it. Here's my metal.:bounce: I have a 30x40 garage and this is the back wall. After looking around for metal cabinets, not wanting wood I found a set of old (some call them retro) Geneva metal kitchen cabinets, cleaned and painted...

    Aluminum pegboard install question (s)

Thanks for the reply, talked to a contractor who showed me these small black plastic pieces about 1"w x1 1/2"L that have holes for the top and bottom screws holding the plate and can be bent in place to extend the plate out to meet the pegboard. An easy fix.

    Aluminum pegboard install question (s)

I'm installing 15 feet of aluminum pegboard and need to cut for light switches. I have a 3/4" gap to the wall. Anybody have this situation? I want to either bring the switch to meet the pegboard or cover the opening up on the pegboard so I don't bleed... Any ideas? Thanks.

Old bench vise install advice needed.

Done painting. Sprayed about 10 coats of Rustoleum Gloss Sage Green and had a can of Aluminum spray laying around. Should last about a month:dunno: Now to drill holes in the bench and lock it down.

I came to the same conclusion. I'll mount it on the right for sure. I think mounting it on the left would be a mistake.

Old bench vise install advice needed.

Attached a couple of pics. of the vise primed. I used degreaser and some other intense liquids to clean. The vise has had alot of use. There are many nicks. Next step is to find some OEM color matching paint. Verde green maybe if I can find it. I was going to get it powdercoated but decided...

Old bench vise install advice needed.

Wow! Rough crowd!:D:D:D Glad to see I made a good purchase. You could say...I bite the bullet...YUK YUK YUK. I bought this one because it will "mesh"with my 1950's Geneva repainted metal kitchen cabinets installed on the same back wall as the work bench in the garage. I like the idea of powder...

Thanks you guys. Great ideas. The vise is just laying on the bench. I haven't installed it yet. Which is why I'm asking all the questions.
