OP, I just finished the install of my Bendpak 10AP 2-post lift. My shop has 16' walls and this lift will raise my Ford 4x4 Super Duty high enough for me to easily walk under it. Granted I am not as tall as your son but if this lift won't get your truck high enough, nothing will. The overall...
I am reading all of the compressor threads here as I research what I should get for my new shop. While I am just a DIY enthusiast, my shop is big (52x56x16) and I want to be able to run things like grinders and a sand blaster. This leads me towards compressors that are in the 80 gallon range...
@sabinoerc this is a very timely thread for me as I too am starting to research which compressor to buy for my new shop. My shop is 52x56x16 so I am definitely looking at a 2-stage compressor but I have always found compressor tech confusing. I have been using the same Craftsman compressor I...
UPDATE: To be fair...wanted to provide an update to my situation. I had posted a message on the distributor's website and they contacted me. The single tech support person they have contacted me and after walking thru the issues I am having...he issued an RMA for the circuit board on the unit...
They are actually made in the UK. Nice motor and very quite but getting the electronics dialed in so it knows when to stop is where the difficulty lies. I would have bought a Lift Master but you can't buy their commercial openers unless you are an authorized installer.
Fair point...but...a different comparison might be how you can go to Best Buy and by many different brands of electronics AND get tech support from Best Buy on them. Honestly, I would not mind having to go to the manufacturer for the support...if they would provide it.
I would have love to buy...
Since I always search the Garage Journal before I buy anything for my shop, thought I would pass some along some info from my garage opener experience. Did a good bit of research and decided on a Zap 8825 that I purchased from North Shore Commercial Door. The sales person was very responsive...
I am in the process of wiring my 52 x 56 shop and would like to put in an outlet for my welder in the front of the shop and one in the back of the shop. I would never be using both outlets at the same time (only have 1 welder) so I would like to put both outlets off of the same breaker. Has...
I was considering installing fans until I read this...now I am re-considering. Would the fans help to push the heat down in the winter? My ceiling is 16'.
I recently completed construction of my 52' x 56' pole building with 16' walls. The shop has a single walk thru door, a 12' x 14' insulated garage door, a 16' x 10' insulated garage door and 3 3' x 4' windows. I currently have 1 1/2" foam board insulation installed along all of the walls but...
@cybrdyke I actually reached out to Lutron support with the details of the light I have and they gave a similar solution to yours. I told him I had 9 150W lights that I wanted to be able to switch and dim with a single switch. He told me to use a PP-DV Power Pack with a DVTV-WH switch.
@cybrdyke I am trying to do something similar. I am using 9 150W UFO LED lights that (according to the documentation) have a sink current of 10mA each. I want to be able to switch and dim all 9 lights from a single switch if possible. What are your thoughts on using the Lutron GRX-TVI control...
Thanks for the additional info. Think I am going to stay the course with my original plan. 2 of those switches is way more than I want to spend for a dimmer.
