    Gas storage and pumping

Hi, Ma is turning 80 next month and lifting gas cans with more than a few gallons to fill her lawn Harley is becoming a chore. I‘d like suggestions on a 120 volt gas caddy with about 10- 25 gallon capacity that would relieve Ma’s burden. Even 12 volt that I step down with an inverter is okay...

    Rodents

Local sewer works brought out the rats. Smoked out the ones under the yard, terriers grabbed the rest. Funny to watch a terrier pup grab a rat, break a leg, let it go out of first timer shock, and his older brother cruise in for the coup de grace.

    Off Grid Well - Options?

Interestingly no one has mentioned wind generators for a site that can be cloudy and does have short winter daylight hours. And they run all night.

Baseboard - Coping inside corners vs measuring angle and cutting to fit

There is art in every trade’s work when well executed, but it’s almost invisible to most. We let the painters prep, prime, and first coat the trim first even at the cost of reduced blade life. Sometimes to their surprise. And we cope.

Hog ring pliers? What to buy? Where to buy?

I rebuilt some seats for my latest project and had a factory seat cover re-sewn at a local upholstery shop. The guy sold me his used hog ring pliers and a handful of rings for $10. I’ll never use them all up and the pliers work fine. “Talk is cheap. Whiskey costs money.”

    V3 Bug/Suggestion Box

Ryan, I hit the pink “Build it now for free” button and I’m still waiting for the six, bikini clad construction professional ladies to arrive with a tractor trailer full of materials and build build my garage. Can you look into that before I wake up? “Talk is cheap. Whiskey costs money.”

    Pressure washer search

The Stihl unit I looked at had a 2 minute max without pulling the wand trigger ie no auto idle down. That's a deal breaker for me.

    Pressure washer search

Hi all. I'm looking for suggestions on a new pressure washer for personal use like exterior concrete, cars, lawn equipment, and masonry. I had a 20 year old Italian made electric Karcher that finally gave up. Great machine. Modern Karchers are nothing like it. I borrowed a gas powered unit...

Finding a Building Mover to lift garage 24"

Adding 24" of wall at the top changes the bending or moment of the wall. Raise the foundation.

Looking at buying house with detached garage w/no electric....how hard to run power?

Second meter around here is $30 per month just for the account minimum. $360 a year for nothing. Shop will be fed from same transformer that feeds the house. One meter. One account. $360 buys a fair chunk of juice for the shop.

Sliding heavy cast iron steam radiators across new hardwood floors

I second the hand truck with fresh, air filled tires. Gentle curves to keep rubber from marking the new floor. Better yet a roll of cardboard. Don't forget the elevation change if your new finished floor is higher than the last one and your rads are hard piped. I recall buying every metal...

Need Help With Underground Wire Markings

Around here telco doesn't do residential locates. They send 3 morons in 3 trucks to figure out how to repair the damage after the fact. At no cost mind you. Somebody must have down a huge cost/benefit analysis on that scenario.

    Silence is golden

Guy I knew plumbed the exhaust through a 5 gallon bucket of water. Left a toxic mess to be dumped after the weekend, but he said it worked. “Talk is cheap. Whiskey costs money.”
