    Electric unit heater

I found a used 10,000 watt unit hater. It was wired from the factory for 480 volt. It says it can be wired single phase. If it is wired single phase will it still be 10,000. Here is the rating plate attached.

    Replacements for T8's

So I have 9 year old eight foot T-8s. There are two rows of four in a 24 by 48 pole barn shop. There are four 4 foot two pin bulbs per light. The mounting height is 16 feet. What I need to know is what sort of conversion to LED is the most durable as I cannot just use a step ladder but will...

Anyone know the original purpose of this tool?

Yep. Babbitt bearing scrapers. They were last in my hands in 1963, High school auto shop. Scraped in a Moodle T engine. Done right those bearings are good as any insert.

Black gas pipe left right ****** in wall

So if you want to cut in a tee for a bbq or log lighter you may have to demo part of the house. I guess you could weld in a tee. I bet this is in the code when it applies to new construction because when you tighten fittings after the left and right it would back off the left portion. I bet...

Black gas pipe left right ****** in wall

50 years plus as a plumber I was taught as an apprentice to never use a union in a gas line accept at the appliance after the shut off valve or at the gas meter. I never have. How would you change a union in a strait run if the pipe was anchored correctly behind a 12 x 12 access panel...

    Pin Hole Leaks in Pex?

Retired plumber here. A competitor of mine (very good guy and very good plumber) did a house in copper about 30 years ago. Within two years it was full of pin holes. Slight amount of Sulphur in the water. Pex was not yet approved so he redid the whole thing in CPVC. No problem. Never in...

Black gas pipe left right ****** in wall

Am retired plumber. You should never use a union in a wall even with access panel. If you get a leak you may have a really big access panel. What size do you need. I have a 3/4 in stock. Use a left and right.
