Electric unit heater

I found a used 10,000 watt unit hater. It was wired from the factory for 480 volt. It says it can be wired single phase. If it is wired single phase will it still be 10,000. Here is the rating plate attached.

Whether it's single phase or three phase, it's 480 but it will still be 10,000 watts. It's voltage changes that make the wattage changes.

It appears that model is single phase only. 480V @ 20.8 amps

Even if you were able to reconfigure the element connections (just a maybe) the fan would still be 480v.

The wiring and contactor sizes would need to increase.

Probably also a transformer with only 480v input.

I would pass on it.

Many of those heaters can be 1 or 3 phase. But the voltage rating doesn't change. It can be 3 phase 480, or 1 phase 480

True. And King makes one. Its part number is KT4810-3. It can be single or 3 phase.

If OP were to connect it 240 would it work but only get 5k watts instead?

2500 watts plus the motor may very well be 480 volts or it has a transformer from 480 to 120.
