I bought the Harbor Freight model about a year and a half ago. I typically look at HF tools as disposable, if it's something I'll rarely/never use again and it gets me through one project it doesn't owe me anything. I was contemplating hydraulic crimpers and figured this was a cheap trial run...
I'm not too happy with my Cat work shoes. They were great at first- non-slip/steel toe/spill resistant, and they did well at that. However, they started splitting way too soon for what they cost. I'm gonna try Redwing next.

I have a set of magnetic nutsetters made by VIM that are an absolute godsend for interior work... ya know, where you drop that fastener and it falls into the abyss in a dash, never to be seen again. Of course those are typically low-torque fasteners, I don't have a solution for sockets but those...
Looks like it to me too, but it's been a couple years since I've handled the Snap Ons.
BTW, they have a coupon code on their site for 15% off. Doesn't work on this set, but worth a shot if you're picking anything else up at the same time. In my experience, VIM is pretty decent stuff for imports.
Thanks for the heads up! Snagged the digital circuit tester. I've had my eye on Snap On's version but couldn't justify the price. Excited to try this one out!
Not long ago I purchased a set of OTC XZN/triple square sockets after seeing them here on the forums. They are advertised as "super-short" and have hex bolsters so they can be used with a wrench to obtain additional clearance over a ratchet...
My micro flush cutters are used daily, I like the CHP-170. About $5 on Amazon, I buy a few at a time so I have backups if I lose them.
As for picks, not sure if you're talking regular or mini, but I've tried several brands of mini picks and I love the Mayhew Mini Dominators. They've held up...
I'm guessing the Jorgensen clamps with the rubber comfort grip are made in China? I couldn't find COO anywhere on the clamp or the tag, but my older ones with the wooden handle are stamped "Made in USA." I thought the FTC required foreign made items to be labeled as such though...
I have been through a few sets of mini picks, by far my favorite is the Mayhew 60003. The handles are nice, picks don't pull out or spin either. They have a black coating on the metal pick portion which has held up unbelievably well.

Normally I would agree with you, it's free market capitalism. None of us go to work and give our time and skills away for free, and most of us likely aren't working for charitable organizations either. If you randomly stumbled across a good deal and flipped it for a profit then more power to...
