I left a small snap on dead blow in a box of tools in storage for several years (I live in Aus so no issues with them freezing) It literally disintegrated to powder. When I attempted to warranty it the dealer refused to believe it was a snap on it had powdered so bad there was no identity...

I use a 10/14 blade for pretty much everything, on thinner stuff I cut through a piece of scrap timber.

$600 is pretty good, the crowd I use for sheet metal that is beyond what I have capability for would have been around that price just for material, would have been over $1k by the time it was folded and welded.
