either fine a snap on truck or call their customer service, let them know about the problem. You can send it to them for repair, if they can't fix it they will replace it with a brand new one. (unless of course you want to hold onto it for sentimental reasons)

get locking head for sure. as stated above, just make sure that you can put the ratchet in "free" mode. I know that snap on locking ratchets have this.
