Anybody have any experience with these? I just bought one from home Depot with a 100.00 instant rebate. Final cost was 199.00. Amazon still has them for 299.00. I'm just a looking to learn how to weld and saw this as an entry level welding machine. What's y'all's opinion...
Wow that's a lot of good advice. Man this forum always impresses me. Thank all of you for your input. I'll post which route I decide once it's done.

Ok I admit this isn't for my garage but I follow the rule, keep the lady in my life happy and the garage gets the benefit of her turning an eye on my next big purchase lol.
Our master bathroom is in the corner of our house. It has two external walls and tile flooring. When we go on on a cold...
I was just using the head lights as an example. I do a lot of 12v tinkering and It would be really convenient to have a detector like I use with 110v for my truck. I don't know if it's possible with the differences between ac/DC or what to think really. Just looking for some guidance.

It worked on !y plugs too. I'm looking to be able to detect the presence of 12v tho. I'm not sure but something tells me spark plugs carry more than that right? I just want to know if for example my headlights are getting power if the bulbs are out.
I guess I don't know enough about the differences between ac versus dc to know if this is even possible but Im looking for a non contact tester. I don't want to have to hook up a ground and actually pierce the insulation on a car wire.
Do you guys know of any non contact testers that will detect a hot wire from a car as well as a hot wire in a house? I bought this one because it said dual band and thought it might work. It works on house electricity but not on my truck.
