I believe that shumacher is an older wound transformer version. Doubt the bottom plate adds all that much, he has 4 graphite plates around the perimeter. I still vote resistance in the circuit, or a dead shumacher (they cant run full tilt as you are showing in 2nd pic). Got a meter, to check...

I think its the high resistance connections at the bailing wire, and the bailing wire itself. Tie the lead of the charger directly to a chunk of the vise, heavy short cable. What H2O solution were you using? Again need low resistance solution, salt water etc.

Quick question for a Snap On newbie. Can a F711 3/8 ratchet be turned into a QR ratchet with the appropriate repair kit? The center dust cover is removed of course. If so, what would the repair kit be called? F723?

Yep, that matches mine (last looked at 5 years ago)! It has the Peterbilt on the front as mine does. However, I never used it as a clothes hamper, and condition is 98%+ versus the eBay one. Thanks again, appreciate all your help!

I do not mean to start a war (and please dont start one!). I have a SHLF80, there is NO WAY it can withstand 700 ft lbs of torque, it feels near break point at 1/3 of that.

Yah, methinks $30k would not buy 1/3 of this.
