    British Garage for Classic Cars

Littlebean, are you able to say where that was? I know some of the race teams that look after the DBR1s. Silverstone based perhaps?

I believe the DBR1 in the Shelby museum is a very good replica rather than either of the 1959 Le Mans cars.

Thanks, yes Winchester isn't too far away, maybe 45 mins drive. Capt Hastings' Lagonda is a couple of years older than mine. A 2-litre as you say, with a fabric covered body and cycle wings. Mine is a 1933 with a metal body and Vanden Plas swept wings. Promise to update more often!

    British Garage for Classic Cars

I can see it's been another 5+ years since I added anything to this thread. Since 2020, my Aston went in for a rebuild and so with space available, I decided to turn the garage into somewhere more to my liking. I checked our two-pack epoxy paint and rubber tiles but in the end decided to use...

Low level heat in a Garage?

Thanks chaps, sounds good. p.s. Doesn't look like 'Thermocubes' are available in the UK for our 240v system. So it needs to be a wall mounted thermostat.

Mods, can you please move my thread "Low level heat in a Garage?" from the General discussion section to the Heating section? Thanks Rich...

Low level heat in a Garage?

Thanks for the reply, I'll get that calculation into an Excel sheet so I can play with it! Your point about overkill is a good one and something I hadn't thought about. p.s. I'm in the south of the UK where most years, in the winter months temps hover around just above freezing to 50F, so I...

Low level heat in a Garage?

Has anyone on this forum got low-level heat in their garage? I am thinking of fitting some oil filled tube heaters connected to a thermostat to keep the temp at around 5 °C / 40 °F approx. However, I have no idea how many watts/btu output I would need for a brick built triple garage and all the...

I'll avoid your sister then! Used to be a great brewery near Waterville, Gales. Loved a pint of HSB.

Thought I'd just apologise for not posting in this thread for ages. Since we moved in 3 years ago we've completely landscaped the gardens and been updating the house, 3 new bathrooms, completely decorated all the upstairs rooms and now we're doing downstairs, new wood floors, new kitchen etc...

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

Hi Chaps, I've seen some pictures of garages with LED lighting fixed around the top edge of the perimeter walls. Obviously need some hanging strips in the middle too but I was wondering if anyone can re-post some photos? p.s. Also, have any of you put some lights in a PIR so that they come on...

    Guidance around this forum

I am looking for ideas on building a British retro-style garage for my cars. I know this is mostly a US forum and when I look at the gallery most of the garages (or shops as they are called) are in an American style. How can I find British looking garages by using the search facility? My...

    British Garage for Classic Cars

Small world indeed! - I had the garage wired up to the house alarm today (well when I say wired up it's all wireless stuff) - I feel happier now.
