I'm working on a 91 Honda CRX and have had a couple problems that I have been dealing with on it. The rear quarters were almost rusted away and I have welded in repair panels but there isn't enough room to get a dolly behind the panel. I have a stud gun that I've use to pull the valley back...
I am somewhat lazy and occasionally forgetful.
I try to remember to turn off my compressor when I leave the shop to save electricity but I don't always remember to do so. Left unattended/unused the compressor runs about once every 5-6 hours. I could try to elimanate all of the leaks but there...
Miller Maxstar 300 DX with Coolmate 3, 25' leads, water cooled torch, and "Deluxe" cart. Everything but the foot controller and gas tank (which comes in Thursday). $2225 .

I picked up a pair of these at Sears. I don't have a picture.
I don't really like them that much. If I used the same amount of force all the time it would be OK but the adjustment for clamping force is very touchy and regular vice grips are easier to adjust. Because the adjustment screw is...
I have one of these (10K). http://whipindustries.com/Specs9_10_11k.htm
I haven't had any $50K cars on it but I have had $50K dually diesel, extended cab, long bed pickup trucks on it. It would laugh at the $50K car :-)
It will pick up everything from my 79 Midget to the big pickups. Worst...
Formula car parts. Sidepods, air vents for cooling air, battery boxes, enclosures for fuel cells and oil tanks, some repair work on body panels, aero dividers, brackets, mounts, etc...
Thanks,

I am looking at TIG welders and have found a good deal on a Miller Econotig. I have looked at the forums and the only negative thing I have found on the unit is that it is not very good at welding thin aluminum. I think it was the range of adjustment on the amperage given as the reason, I...
Re: what did you do in your garage today?
Moved the '56 Chevy out of the way to finish the interior of the '79 Midget. Pulled the dead keg out of the fridge, ready for a replacement :-)
Finally found the cd with the "build pics".
I have uploaded them to photobucket here:

I'll post some of it now when I get them uploaded.

If you put in a garage door opener you might want to put a switch on it so that it won't open when a vehicle is up. From the pictures it looks like the door might whack the vehicle in the rear.
Yo,
I joined a couple of weeks ago to buy a borescope from the classifieds. One of the guys at work told me about the site.
I've had "the shop" for about 5 years now. Iti is a steel building, 40x50x12 with 4/12 pitch roof. I'll try to post some build pics if I can dig them up. It was mostly...
My shop is 40x50 and it is basically set up as you describe, except I have 6 supports, 2 on each end and 2 on the middle with 36x36x36 footers. I only have 4" concrete except for the 1/4 that has the 2 post lift, any more than that is overkill unless you are working on tanks or 18 wheelers...
How about if I nudge you the other way :)
Why not go used?
I got an 80 gallon horizontal IR T30 on eBay for $175. 2 hour drive to pick it up. Replaced the 3ph 5hp motor with a 1ph 5hp Baldor 1430T motor (brand new $275 shipped on eBay).
I am right now plumbing the shop (40x50 steel) with...
