New Invention: The Tool Swing: New videos

The cabinets you show absolutely DO have rollers under them. Start looking at the 4 minute mark and you'll see several different ones with casters. It is problematic that you don't seem to notice that. I just retired from private equity in my 40's, so I'll defer to your truck driving...

New Invention: The Tool Swing: New videos

So, just on the video, since that was what you asked about: 1. You say “built by me” too often. This has no added value of being hand crafted, and might make a buyer think they could just do it themselves. 2. And the “new manufacturing partners” makes me think I should just wait and see what...

Question for motorcycle techs or diy'ers.

I have some feeler gauges that are "loose" that I, um, cut/snapped off the stack. I put one of those in between the rocker and valve, then tighten it down. If you're not being too heavy with it, the feeler should pull out, and preserve your adjustment.

    Air Compressor Capacitor Help

Yes, I should be able to read the capacitors, but I can't, and the friend I showed them to can't either, the paint is just faded badly and somewhat gone. I guess that's good that they got to that point, but now they're gone to the big bin in the sky. So... what are the capacitors needed for a...

Tips on building a large vibratory polisher?

Wait, you think shaking a hundred plus pounds of what are basically rocks in a metal tub for several hours would be loud?

Tips on building a large vibratory polisher?

I am planning to build a good sized vibratory polisher (Mr. Deburr 6000 for example), not a small table top 'bowl' shaker. If anyone has done it, what are the "wish I knew before" advice that would have been helpful? What frequencies worked best? What mass of weight, and on what offset...

Let me tell you about my loose nut problem.........

Of course, not all fasteners commonly called "Whitworth" are truly Whitworths. British bikes of the 50's and into the early 60's used *three* different thread standards, and all British, not metric or SAE.

    Lithium ion battery fires.

Also be aware there are several types of "lithium" batteries. The most 'dangerous' ones are the lithium polymer types that are often used in RC and drone batteries. They're light, powerful, and easier to damage. MotoAmerica recently banned them after one caught on fire in a pit during winter...

    Mobile base for mill

Ok, so seeing the mobile heavy work table got me thinking, why couldn't a mobile base be made for a milling machine? I know they weight 2000-2500lbs, but with four 750lbs casters, that would be 3000, and 1k casters are available. It's over-simplifying, yes, but it's possible to make a rolling...

Powder Coating: Grizzly gun on sale, good buy?

Grizzly has a basic gun on sale: http://www.grizzly.com/products/T25100?utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=T25100 I know the basics of powder coating, but haven't done it. I've been looking at guns, cabinets, ovens, etc. off and on. I basically work on motorcycles, and I'm not...

Practical value of a shop press

I got a 20 ton air over hydraulic recently. It's pretty nice, but gets in the way. SO! I got a HF mover's dolly, set the press on it, and voila, for $12 I now have a nicely mobile press unit that stays out of the way till I need it! Great accessory that makes it practical to...

Kobalt Phillips drivers in a socket

I've got a set of phillips head bits in a 3/8" drive socket. One of them has gotten rounded off after a good bit of use, the P-1, #22461. I've pressed the bit out of the socket, but now I need a new bit to press into place. The standard 1/4 drive bits won't work. They're too small. The...
