We had hardwood installed a few years ago, and it was definitely recommended that we let it acclimate for several days. It sat in our home for a week before the install and we've had no issues with gaps, etc.

I've seen it suggested that some type of under layment, like weed barrier fabric should be installed under rigid tiles to reduce noise, etc. Would this inhibit the ability of water to drain out from under the tiles? Has anyone used weed barrier and are you happy with it?
