    Gearwrench tool reviews

I Have used the 120xp ratchets for the last 8 years daily as a full time 60 hour a week truck mechanic, prior to that used the 84 tooth ratchets. I have never had a issue with either one. I have a 1/2 SAE shallow impact set that has seen the 3/4 impact more than once and I have yet to break one...

show us you hydraulic hose crimper(s)

I have a portable hand pump crimper. but by the time you buy the collets, dies and the pressing plates it wont make any sense to use your shop press. I think you would be better off buying a used kit. The crimper I have is the eaton 54655. You can find them used with dies for pretty reasonable...

Spot Weld Chisel - any recommendations?

I use these after i drill the weld. Also use them in a pinch if for some reason I cannot drill the weld. When they get wore out the snap on man warranties them. https://shop.snapon.com/product/Striking-Scrapers/3-pc-Striking-Scraper-Set/PKNC300

Lock N Lube....why am I just now finding these?

They work awesome, I have been using the same one daily for year and a half, Probably repacked a few hundred wheel bearings with it. Greased countless cranes, trucks, etc. It surprisingly fits 99% of the places a regular couplers. Most places i need a adapter i would need one with any grease gun...

    Mobile Mechanic Setup Advice

Been a field mechanic on and off for years. Best thing I have found for wet/muddy condition to lay on it horse stall mat. I cut the mat in half, its kinda heavy but thats what makes it good. It wont move around when you shimmy around under the vehicle, its easy to clean and oil and brake clean...

Tool bags for field service tech in power generation

I started as a diesel mechanic as well and now have been a field tech for several trades around that world. Been a generator tech, air compressor, and currently work on railroad trucks. Automotive scan tools

Hey guys, I am looking for a new scan tool for the house. I've been working with a decade old code reader and I think it's time to upgrade. I'm looking to spend around 150$ or less on it and was hoping to get some of your opinions. I've been looking at some of the launch and autel offerings...

    so krsc46 vs cornwell ctbmm800

I appreciate the input guys, a coworker has krsc246, i like it, but I would like it to be a little wider. I looked at that matco cart, my dealer had one on the truck and I liked the storage of it, but it just seemed really flimsy. I guess I'm still a little stuck on the decision. I think the...

    so krsc46 vs cornwell ctbmm800

Hey Guys, In the last year I have changed jobs from working on multiple different types of equipment to working for a fleet where I am only working on mainly two different types of equipment. The shop I'm in now is a lot tighter and harder to maneuver in. I a currently working out of a 72 inch...

Air Compressor - Horizontal vs Vertical

I would say that the harbor freight compressor is far superior. The tank is made in USA the motor is made in Mexico and the pumper is made in Italy. They are assembled by Atlas Copco in Georgia. One of the best home owner compressors someone could buy sub $1000.00

    S-cam brake tool kit?

All you need is the biggest flat head screw driver you can find, and grind a notch into it for spring removal.

New to forum, I own a large tool store outside St. Louis

Been a lurker on here for a long time, but I am from the area and I have to say this place is great. I have been going there for about 4 years now, the guys there will bend over backwards for you, and they are the only place that I know of that will warranty S-K in the area.
