Looking for ideas/advice on paint booth exhaust design

Well I'm beginning to develop a plan, at this point I believe a cross draft design will be what will work best for my arrangement. I also found this link which was also very helpful... http://modelpaint.tripod.com/booth2.htm Based on the 100 FPM figure and the booth size of 10'x14', it looks...

Looking for ideas/advice on paint booth exhaust design

Nice, that was informative reading. Now for my next question, the booth basics .pdf used a simple draw through design for it's examples, can someone list some of the different types of booths and the advantages to each design? As far as practicality, a draw through design would seem the...

Looking for ideas/advice on paint booth exhaust design

Well, the purpose of the room is for painting the cars but if I have large parts to paint I would use the room as well. I was looking at the explosion proof fans, I did see that they are very expensive, but don't have much of a choice there unless a good used one could be found. Steve

Looking for ideas/advice on paint booth exhaust design

I'm searching for ideas and recommendations on how to design the ventilation system on a paint room that I am planning. It will be a 26'x14' 10' high room constructed in a corner of my building, it will be used for hobby use painting cars & parts for myself. I honestly don't know where to...

Installing 2-post lift... DIY vs. pay for install?

Some very good points from both sides of the coin. After considering all the comments, I think I will pay for the install. I am excited, I've been wanting a lift for a long time!

Installing 2-post lift... DIY vs. pay for install?

I'm trying to decide if I want to pay to have this lift installed or tackle it myself. Installation is $450, I consider myself capable of such a task, but is there any reason I shouldn't do it myself? The fact that it is going to be supporting a car over my head does make me nervous about it...

Fresh concrete... how long until a lift can be installed?

Thanks guys, I'll wait the 30 days, don't want to take anything for chance when putting a car over your head. Never had a lift, I'm sure looking forward to it!! Thanks, Steve

Fresh concrete... how long until a lift can be installed?

Didn't really find an answer through searching, I'm guessing 30 days minimum. It's 5" 4000# with fiber if that makes any difference. I'm looking to put in a 2 post lift asap. Thanks! Steve

Installing a 2-post on a floor graded to a floor drain

Hopefully this is a easy question... is it a problem if where you are looking to put a lift is in an area that the floor has some grade to a floor drain? Thanks, Steve

    Lift arrived today!

Thanks. All that I could find was the suggested retail, and I did see that the A7 was only a couple hundred cheaper, I would spend the extra money for the System 1 as well.

    Lift arrived today!

Nice lift! After a quick internet search, I didn't see any dealers listing prices... mind if I ask what it cost? You wouldn't by chance know what the A7 sells for as well? I'm jealous!

Question on digging for a floor drain...

Thanks for all the great info, mine would be a "drain to air" setup as well. That trench drain is a nice idea also. I'll have to look at their products. A lot of helpful people here! Thanks, Steve

Question on digging for a floor drain...

How much of a grade (not sure if that is the correct term) would you use when digging in garage floor drains? How deep should they be? Thanks, Steve

Could I get some advise on lighting layout?

I appreciate the advise, I had previously decided that fluorescent was the way I was going, but I ran into these metal halides. Six it will be then. Thank you much, Steve

Could I get some advise on lighting layout?

Only 6... really? What were the distances you used to space them? Thank you! Steve
