Help remove silicone caulk from brick

I had a chance to play a little with it this afternoon. I put an edge on an old multitool blade with a file and that did a much better job than just a razor blade for cutting the bulk off. The only silicone digester I can find is about $600 for a 5 gallon bucket and it's hard to pull the trigger...

I was not aware this existed! I'll start researching it. Thanks for all of the ideas.

Help remove silicone caulk from brick

Bought an old brick building that someone had glued lattice all over the front with silicone caulk. Anyone have a sure fire way to remove the silicone caulk from the brick without damaging the brick? So far we have tried razor blades (it only takes off the top layer), Goof Off, Acetone, heat...

Why are my automatic center punches stuck?

I've got a couple this style and they do work great but typically I need to use these one handed for a particular task or in tight spaces walking bolts around so need the spring loaded style.

Why are my automatic center punches stuck?

Just watched the videos showing how it works. I took mine (several) apart and the pistons were stuck and have rough machining marks on them. I'll polish them out and clean everything up. Hopefully that will fix them. Thanks everyone. I had forgotten how these things work.

Why are my automatic center punches stuck?

I use automatic center punches quiet often. I've always just picked up cheap General brand or something from a big box store and they work great out of the packaging but after some use they start to stick. Take it apart and put back together and they work again for a short time (usually) before...

Advise needed on Autel OBD scanners

I have a Maxisys Pro (908S I think) for work and it does everything I've needed for imports and domestics including programming modules with the J2534 pass thru. The only big thing it lacks is a wide range of key programming, but it can do some. I've used it for several years and it replaced my...

    Sticking Acrylic to HDPE Help

Just a follow up. I has some rolls of 0.5 4991 VHB in the shop and thought I would try that. Cleaned everything with 90% ISO and applied when temps were in the high 60's. We have had temps since down to the 20' and up to the high 70's and it has held well with use. I will not be able to keep...

    Sticking Acrylic to HDPE Help

I finally had a chance to go out and look at how it was put together originally. It appears to have some sort of urethane adhesive from the factory and it's stuck to the HDPE extremely well. It appears the failure was on the acrylic side. I'll see what I can come up with at Home Depot and...

    Sticking Acrylic to HDPE Help

Need some thoughts on an adhesive that will work on acrylic and HDPE plastic. The backboard on the kids basketball goal is coming loose and I'm not real sure on what will stick to both pieces. Really don't want to screw it together if I don't have to and I'm tired of hearing it flop around.

    Drill Press Vice Suggestions

Drill Press Vise Suggestions Somehow I managed 46 years without owning a drill press but picked up a nice older Delta Rockwell a couple of weeks ago. It will just be general purpose use with whatever material needs a hole in it. I would like to add a vise to it but while there seem to be a...

    Lets talk about staining concrete

That looks great. Thanks for sharing. The concrete company wants to much money for that and will not guarantee any particular color only that it will be colored (might be much lighter or darker than requested). I've seen some of their colored concrete before and it did not look like it was...

    Lets talk about staining concrete

Since this is outside and will likely not be covered, do I need a vapor barrier under the concrete since we plan on staining?
