If they are 3/4” head, get a shallow 3/8” drive swivel (universal) socket. Might have to cut the extra length of the stud since it’s a shallow socket. I use an old v series craftsman, and i think there are shallow mac sockets that work as well.

Fyi for flush mounting an an fitting like you did in the fuel pump block off, put a chamfer and use an o-ring to seal if it leaks/weeps. Mcmaster sells the specific boss o-rings in the dash sizes. Going off possible bad memory, spec i believe is as5202 for the dimensions.

See my post above, that is not the stock bolt. I’m making the distinction to avoid confusing the OP. You are thinking of the two top bolts that attach the trans to the motor that are external torx bolts.

Own a few cherokees. That is not the stock caliper bolt, stock they are 6pt hex head. Fyi be aware the threads in the knuckle tend to strip when you re-install that bolt. Check if there is a helicoil there already which may or may not be the stock threads.

I could be crazy but if you are evacuating the system using a vacuum pump, i would think argon in lieu of gn2 wouldn’t be an issue? Especially since it’s in the atmosphere, inert, and a noble gas

I’ll second Lee Power Steering. Good customer service, quick turnaround and price was palatable on my cherokee. They rebuilt my pump and i bought a big bore steering box.

A socket head cap screw (shcs) is stronger and has a tighter shank tolerance than typical bolts. A grade 8 bolt is 150 ksi ultimate strength. A shcs is 170-180 ksi depending on size, so a good amount stronger. The shank of a shcs is typically truer to size, where the grade 8 is a bit undersize...
