    Craftsman 113.27520 - couldn't resist.

It coming with those fence extensions that are attached to the extension tables are a bit of a prize. The ends are usually busted off.

    What’s your favorite snow shovel?

I like to shovel snow. Well, a little bit. I am 70 years and the exercise is good. Big snow or a big pile at the end of the drive way I just use the snow blower. So, with a dusting up to a few inches I use a regular shovel or shovel with a back saver handle and generally push the snow. I just...

    Tool battery size and interchangeability

In what way is your battery powered circular saw "basically useless"? What kind of work makes it useless? What make/model saw? You can find all kinds of cut tests for circular caws on YouTube that demonstrated how many cuts a saws will make with a given battery. Both (brushed and brushless)...

    Dewalt Kits at HD.

I don't understand the disdain of the Atomic line. Not every job needs a 3 speed hammer drill. Sometimes you just need to drill a few pilot holes and drive a few screws. A light weight drill is the better tool for that kind of job. I have XR, Atomic, 12v Max, M12 and M18 tools brushed and...

    Dewalt Kits at HD.

If I was picking that set I would go with the 2 4ah and the circular saw. The set is all brushless. Generally, the kit saw (DCS566) are a dumbed down version, stamped steel shoe, no rafter hook. This set has a DCS565 which is the better saw, Also, the kit comes with a good charger, DCB1104...

Battery powered lights. What are you using?

I certainly have more lights than I will ever need. everything from AA lights, Dewalt 12v max, 20v max, Milwaukee M12 and I even have a Ridgid Spot Light. They all work well enough. But these 2 little lights from Ryobi in their USB line are nice and worth a mention here. For those that like the...

Let's Hear it for the Old Gray/Red Sears Craftsman Tool Chests and Cabinets (60s/70s)

Found another gray stack. It is in OK shape. Cleaned up and lubricated the runners. Put drawer liners in the drawers. It needed 3 clips for the runners. I found some on eBay. They worked. So my stacks consist of two of these with another stack that has the same top with a 5 drawer bottom with...

cordless tools set recommendation - drill, impact driver, oscillating tool?

You have to push those batteries into the charger. Hard. Especially when they are new.

cordless tools set recommendation - drill, impact driver, oscillating tool?

You could do a lot worse than this: This is 2 brushless tools, a couple 2AH batteries and (by the picture) the newer 1104 charger. for $150. Same kit is available for the same price from Amazon...

    DeWalt vs Milwaukee - question

That is a nice kit. Brushless tools. Also of note, that is a 565 circ saw instead of the 566 that is usually included in kits. The 565 is the better saw. it has a magnesium shoe and a rafter hook. The 566 has a stamped steel shoe and doesn't have a rafter hook. The only negative in that kit is...

I dont lose (its not loose gdmit) any tools. How do people lose tools?

I haven't lost much either over the years. I did lose my 2 foot Starrett scale (rule) 25 or 30 years ago. Still miss it. I believe I left it in a locker when I moved out at completion of a project. By the time I needed it and noticed it missing, the locker was long gone.
