Ridge Vent vs. Power Roof Vent vs Power Gable Vent

I have a 26 x 26 stick frame, go with ridge vent. Nothing to wear out, it is at the highest possible part of the roof , natural air movement allows the building to breathe. Nothing to ever leak too.

Max Jax owners...if you don't have one you NEED ONE

Would the Max Jack and the creeper work if you were doing work such as pulling a transmission ? I keep considering this set up instead of a full hight two post for my 28 x 28 hobby shop so I keep the floor space open when no hoist is needed.

Big Maxx 50k, converted to LP, but not enough flow

What is the pressure ( WC) set at on your MEGR-253H regulator? Should be around 11-14" WC there first. There is a regulator in the Big Max as well. When you say 10.5"WC is that at the furnace or at the tank supply regulator? How long is the distance from the tank to the heater?

Anyone familiar with well cycle stop valves?

I have two properties with wells, my newest home is the variable speed demand pump. After 8 years I just replaced the defective controller at $1800 Canadian. I am also looking into using the cycle stop valve, on my other property as I use a large pressure tank with a conventional pressure...

    Specifications for Mr Cool 12DIY

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks. It sure drops off even at 17*F , I will look into other units and brands that specifically produce more heat at the lower outside temperatures.

    Specifications for Mr Cool 12DIY

I see that it cools down to 5*F in their add, kinda weird as I was hoping they would say what it heats down to. They do say it continues to heat at low temps, just no specification found. Thanks for the 20 amp circuit requirements information.

    Specifications for Mr Cool 12DIY

I am looking for specifications for the MR Cool 12KBTU DIY. Looking to cool and heat my 350 sf. dorm above my workshop. Heat Pump Experts

Thank you for the comments, I learned a lot more about heat pumps. I also found the spec chart for mine, it is a 3 ton or 36, 000 btu unit. I also see that at -12*C (10*F) it is still putting out about 22,000 btu and running at at COP of 2.44. That means it would cost me 2.44 times as much to...

    Heat Pump Experts

So as long as it makes enough heat to maintain the preset temperature I am saving money based on the benefit of the COP over electricity back-up heat coils in the furnace? Right now the thermostat and the back-up AUX heat is programmed perfect, if the wind howls and the temperature drops below...

I am about to install a 50,000 BTU Mr heater (propane) and wanted to plumb in for a future propane range in the loft at the same time. I will pull a gas permit as required by the Technical Safety BC. and follow the B149 ( for Canada- BC) which allows a stub to be placed for future appliances as...

parts washer solvent is burning my skin!?

As noted in an earlier reply, your skin has becomes sensitized to the solvent and from day one your should have worn gloves. It is known as "occupational dermatitis". Your skin is like a sponge so it has soaked in lots of this. I recall the days when I would not think there was anything wrong...

    AC size recommendation

Just wondering how hot the car is that you move in there? Engine and transmission at 195* F not even counting exhaust and engine block plus transmisson. If the car is in the sun, at 90*f then you are trying to cool down 3400 pounds of plastic and steel. Have you considered a swamp cooler, I...
