Need some Quick advice on correct collet for M12 Die Grinder

Wow this guy in the video above is just not intelligent. Loosen the collet until it gets tight again, then use the wrenches to loosen more and it pops right out. It takes a standard 1/4" shank so I am not sure what this thread is even about..... I own a fab shop and we have half a dozen of...

R22 Condenser and Coil with 410 Handler?

Well I bought the 4 ton air handler, with furnace for $300. It’s brand new never been hooked up so I couldn’t pass it up. It’s a 4 ton and the condenser is a 5 ton. I pulled the coil out of it and it’s actually much larger than the 5 ton coil I got with the condenser. The air handler also...

R22 Condenser and Coil with 410 Handler?

Exactly this. I don't know enough about air handlers to know if there was some special reason I couldn't run the R22 coil that I got with the condenser in the air handler I am looking at. I assumed all an air handler was for is a housing for a blower and the coil sits on top.

R22 Condenser and Coil with 410 Handler?

Now just hear me out for a second. I missed out on a mini split deal so I ended up buying a 5 ton r22 condenser for a song. It came with a matching coil. Now I found a 410a air handler for cheap too. I know you can’t use the two together, but does an air handler being 410a just refer to the...

Is a mini split right for me?

Thank you for the only reasonable response besides the dsi. I decided to pull the trigger on this and see how it does, if not I’ll sell it or add another one. Good info to check out the rebates, I didn’t think of that. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

Is a mini split right for me?

I’m trying to make a decision on a new open box MrCool 36k mini split. They’re asking $1,400 for it which I think is a good price compared to new but I’m not sure it will work in my shop. My shop is 20x60’, with peak ceiling height being 18ft and 14’ at the front and rear. The door is...

    Air hose sizes and fittings

A friend turned me on to Prevosf high flow fittings over Miltons. I’m very very glad I did as the Miltons felt incredibly cheap and the Prevost are very solid. Not only that but they won’t wear as fast as the Miltons will and do. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

    Van Norman Mill

I’d have to run a giant VFD or something as I only have single phase... probably costs as much as the machine does. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

    Van Norman Mill

Not sure where to put this since Practical Machinist is down. But I have a chance to buy this Van Norman for $1200, with the collets shown. This is far far bigger than I ever need for a mill but it seems to be in good shape, all power feeds work. Two handles are broken and one was repaired...

What is the benefit of expensive tool chests?

Most are the 56” ish size and every single persons box is so overloaded and full of junk you would never find in a mechanic shop. Stuff I would put money that the majority of the boxes where I work holds more stuff than the average shop mechanic. Pretty sure my bottom drawer has a few hundred...

What is the benefit of expensive tool chests?

My work gives every mechanic a Craftsman tool box, which by most everyone on here standards are junk. Mine was a hand me down from 3 previous people. The kicker is we push these boxes all around our plant every single day and they get beat on, every single one is still rolling and working just...

    Ceiling fan install help.

I have a 1200 square foot metal building with 16ft roof that I want to put two ceiling fans in. If I did my calculations right I should hang them on a 60" downrod. The units I'm looking at are here...
