    Ceiling fan suggestion & placement

An update...the third controller was the charm (first was DOA completely, second speed control didn't work). Only thing is now fan motor makes audible buzzing at medium to high speed where as it didn't on the last controller that was pretty much permanently set to high. Pretty disappointed with...

    Ceiling fan suggestion & placement

Ok now I have another issue. The variable speed control isn’t doing anything. Bought the Canarm CNFRMC5 controller and everything is wired correctly. Forward reverse switch works fine fan is off in off position but runs at same speed no matter max or min on dial. I tried adjusting the min speed...

    Ceiling fan suggestion & placement

Question, my fan is mounted with the U-clamp and it sure seems the downrod has a lot of play and will sway when teh fan is on (my electrician hasn't got the wiring done yet, so I'm not certain). Does yours have the same issue?

    Ceiling fan suggestion & placement

I ended up going with Canarm CP60HPWP and noticed the upper canopy is not sized properly to mount within 1/8" to the ceiling as noted in the instructions. I reached out to the manufacturer who responded that this is "normal" and how this fan has always been which doesn't really seem acceptable...

    Ceiling fan suggestion & placement

Yes I did notice Westinghouse wasn’t reversible but doesn’t seem to be a deal breaker as it should help push the warm air down during cold months on the standard direction. Yes I was looking at the 56” and 60” Canarms as well but have to think that stated CFM is not accurate based on the RPM...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

I appreciate your help. Sorry for asking questions but I’m just trying to understand how this works. I reached out to the company that sells the fixtures you suggested and they said 9 is overkill and would produce 106fc and 6 would be more ideal producing 70fc. Gave them same dimensions and...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Understood. 9 of these 12,000 lumen fixtures will generate over 100fc, correct? Is that overkill? Could I get away with 6 of these fixtures instead and if so, how would you suggest laying those out?

    Ceiling fan suggestion & placement

Construction on my 30x28x13 will begin in the next couple weeks. Ceiling will be insulated with R49 and drywalled. Walls will be 2x6x12 studs with R19 batt insulation. Will maybe add plywood or drywall at later time. Two 9x8 doors will be insulated R18 panel & window. Plan on heating with Mr...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

3ft from center point of fixture to wall seems awfully close when that would result in the next fixture center in the row being spaced over 11' away as pictured. Is this what you're intending? If so, can you help me understand your logic as someone else suggested a similar 3x3 light layout with...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Sorry I misunderstood the layout. See attached. Does this look better, or should the corner lights be further spread out & positioned 3ft from both walls? So with only 12ft ceilings you think I'll be fine using the suggested high-bay lights with diffused lenses?

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Thanks for the feedback. How does the revised layout look? I wasn't sure if your specified 3ft from wall meant to edge or to center of the light fixture...this plan is based on edge. From what I've read high-bay lights are designed for ceilings 20ft or greater when this garage will only be...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Hi there. This is my first post. My 30x28x12 garage will start construction in July. Any thoughts/feedback on the attached layout? Left bay will be used for service bay with lift and workbench at the front. Right bay will be only used to park. 8 total light fixtures represented by the squiggly...
