Can gravity fed spray gun be modified to work with HVLP turbine

I have a Fuji gun and a 2 stage and 3 stage turbine. I'm no pro - so far I've only used it for poly. Fuji has a chart (that DOESN'T include gelcoat, but does include heavier viscosity stuff) along with tip size recommendation, etc. PERSONALLY, having piddled with resins in the past, I'm pretty...

    Selecting a Framer Nailgun

    Selecting a Framer Nailgun

I have plenty of tape. Was out and about yesterday so will have to look for it. Will let you know in a couple of days if I can find it.

    Selecting a Framer Nailgun

I live in Candia, NH - it's about 1 1/2 drive from Leominster. Let me know if you're interested in the drive and I'll look for it this weekend. The drive may not be worth it to some because of how cheap you can get pneumatic framing nailers these days - especially off FB Marketplace.

Looking for an upgrade to my Craftsman wood thickness planer

I got my 735 with Shelix (and original head) for around $200 because the seller bought the Shelix and couldn't figure out why the pulley kept coming loose, so I took a chance and found that he installed the pulley backwards, so it was rubbing the frame and causing it to loosen. I have found...

    Selecting a Framer Nailgun

Where are you? I live in NH and have a PC 21 degree I no longer use that you can have for free (if I can find it).

Been waiting for someone to test the Astro pneumatic slide hammer and here it is.

I find the "towel" method works really well if you need more "Impact" with a slide hammer. Not sure how easy it is to find the info, but here is my explanation if you want it: Grab a bath towel (I suppose anything similar will be fine, I've just used a towel) Tightly wrap the middle of the...

Been waiting for someone to test the Astro pneumatic slide hammer and here it is.

I wanted a 10 lb weight (only) to use with my existing OTC shaft. I found a couple but they were stupid expensive. The cheapest route I found at the time was a Westward kit from Grainger (of all places). I don't remember how much I paid for it because it was years ago, and they also currently...

Using sockets with the shop press?

I'm not an engineer, although sometimes think I am at my wife's behest (and I have calipers and micrometers to prove it), but TO ME, the difference between chrome and impact sockets (for example, crv vs cromo) is more related to how each metallurgy deals with IMPACTS. Although it will also lend...

Go get a boroscope camera if you don't already have one

You might want to try an articulating borescope (if I recall my verbiage correctly). An articulating scope can "bend/curve" at the end under control. For example, you could poke it into the cylinder, then have the head bend upward to see the valves. An obedient scope (likely what you had) has...

Go get a boroscope camera if you don't already have one

I believe Olympus is still king of things that "go there." Although I think it's now a subsidiary to another company since the parent company had the accounting scandal a few years ago. When you go for one, ask them who made their endoscope - they'll likely say Olympus. Edit - out of backdoor...

Go get a boroscope camera if you don't already have one

If you're going to do colonoscopies, be sure to get what is called an "obedient" or "articulating" borescope/endoscope. They have a controller so the scope can bend and turn as needed while it's in there.

Confess: What Tool Did You Not Really Need But Bought Anyhow? (Silly Stuff Included)

What Tool Did You Not Really Need But Bought Anyhow? Pretty much everything... Sadly, I buy tools based on anticipated future need versus current need. A LOT of times, I either never end up needing them, or end up finding something even better to use so end up getting that.

Ever get stuck with tools you thought you’d need but don’t really need and not worth reselling and maybe you’ll need them someday

Ever get stuck with tools you thought you’d need but don’t really need and not worth reselling and maybe you’ll need them someday = everything I own and my wife complains about ("you don't even use this!").
