Not really sure why I bought this, I have no Idea what it is. There was an awesome estate of an axe and hammer collector. This thing kind of has the shape of an axe… I guess I thought maybe it was some type of mold that you used when forging an axe that would give you the right shape. But havent...
Nice! Thanks four-cycle, that looks like the logo on the underhill lath hatchet. Same wavy logo. Guess the logo changed sometime between the 20’s and 30’s
Thanks Woody! There must not be a ton of collectors for these tools, its hard to find info as far as logo changes and specific dates. I found this old catalog I think its from the 20’s. Its says for nearly 50 years and the company was founded in 1872. Heres are some photos of the hammers &...
Found this old hammer at an estate sale. It reads lakeside montgomery wards. You can easily find the logo on hatchets. I couldnt find another hammer with this logo. Does anyone know the history behind the lakeside company?
Found this awesome wrench. Ive found a specialty tool that foamite made for hydrants but havent had any luck finding another one of these. The way it is marked makes me think it would be easy to find another one. Measures about 16”. It has the number 089 and reads foamite childs corp. Utica, NY...
Dang yall are good! It is shaped a lot like the simond hammer! The groove size and depth looks very similar, It just goes the other way. I don't think its been filed down the sides are so symmetrical, and the groove looks different than a tack hammer.
Hmm... yea I can see what your talking about. Hadnt noticed that. Thanks! Have you ever seen a hammer like this? Would that make it some type of auto body hammer?
Found this old hammer, I thought it was a tack hammer but thinking this may be for something else. Maybe a saw setting hammer? Any ideas? There are no marks on the head but the handle says hartwell. Thanks!
Picked up this old soldering iron. Havent found another one like it. I cant quite make out the writing but the bottom says Troy, NY. I did find that a lot of older sad irons were marked Troy, NY. Does anyone any other info on this?
Hey guys, came across this old nozzle. Not sure if its for air, oil or what. Any Ideas? The 8 shaped makers mark is interesting, I have an old wrench with the same mark, does anyone know what that mark means? Thanks in advance!
