yea, the channel is worn out, and it split in the bottom of the channel. the bottom of the channel is jus hanging there with about 4 or so inches still attached towards the back.

The channel spot welded the inside wall of the box is broken.

I recently bought a vintage snap on tool box, and this was in the side cabinet. The guy i bought it from didnt know what it was either. Any help on identifying this would be appreciated. The model number on it is KRA-449A
