How much do you have into your tools?

Doing neon signs I have some specialized tooling and equipment that brings the total well past 120k.

    Eastwood Mig 135

I have one and its a perfectly good welder for non-industrial use. It is a "real machine" and will lay down a weld just as good as a big name welder for twice or more of the price.

    Klein backpacks are garbage

I bought a pair of Cat boots back in 96 and had them until last year when the leather finally rotted out because of salt from the winter with out me cleaning them. Steal toe and steel shank along the bottom. I can't find anything that good anywhere.

    Wood Signs

Very very nice. Great use of mixed disciplines. Why not go HDU? I miss working the creative side of the sign industry. Now I spend my days arguing for the 1st Amendment rights of businesses against city, county, state and federal governments.

Looking for a table top drill press and band saw

The neon shop lasted for 4 years until one of my partners decided to retire to a log cabin in Colorado. Myself and the other partner divided the rest of the company up. He was the neon bender so he got all the neon stuff and opened another shop up that focuses just on bending neon. Sadly its...

Looking for a table top drill press and band saw

Went to Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot today looking for a decent table top drill press and band saw ( or even flor stand if the price was right). None of my local stores had a selection. Each one had a single pick and it was bottom of the barrel harry homeowner stuff on par with Harbor Freight...

    Craftsman electronic arm saw

We already have a panel saw to rip sheets with but this could be a little more manageable to use for ripping some smaller stuff.

    Craftsman electronic arm saw

So we got this in the shop friday and I know nothing about it besides that it will spin the blade and the arm slides. For $30 even if thats all that works I still think its a good buy. Total cut height is about 3.5 inches. We plan on using it to cut extruded alum down to length and hopefully be...

    Kobalt combination ratchet

Kobalt use to be a good buy but in the last year or so they changed to less quality and more price. Discontinued some of their better tools also.

Lets talk 30 degree sheet metal notchers

I had a nice Malco N1 that grew legs and I need a replacement. Went to Lowes and they had a crappy Wiss branded one there. So do you guys in your vast knowledge of tools have any thing better or comparable in the $45 price range of the Malco?
