Rebuilding my old champion Ren14 - piston damage - need help

Yup, I emailed mike at pacificaircompressors he said it would be fine as long as the valve seals ok. I am going to try to clean the weld up tomorrow. Debating if I want to grind it out and reweld it but that would involve milling the weld down. Which I could do . I guess I can try to fix it as...

Rebuilding my old champion Ren14 - piston damage - need help

ha nice, The head on this is steel and the piston is aluminum. Piston has definitely been repaired a little by grinding or sanding. the cylinder head was poorly welded and then not machined. I have access to a mill at my neighbors. Jigging this thing up would be interesting but I think the...

Rebuilding my old champion Ren14 - piston damage - need help

It looks like weld but I don't know how it could be. I think it is just the aluminum mashed up but I will investigate. I am guessing I can knock it loose. eta: won't knock loose. If I just smooth it out with a die grinder it shouldn't hurt anything right? maybe a little less compression on the...

Rebuilding my old champion Ren14 - piston damage - need help

I am in the process of going through an older champion compressor that I was running in my shop. It started leaking oil a bit on the outside so I decided to buy and overhaul kit and pull it apart. I got it on a trade for hardly anything so have anything in it. Upon removing the cylinder head...

    2 post lift installation help

Yup there is no lower voltage. That's what confused me when I saw the relay in the wiring diagram. Why use it if it is just regular voltage? Are they using it to cut both legs with the switch is off?

    2 post lift installation help

Gotcha they must have wired it this way. In the manual i downloaded it had a solid state relay. Though I am not sure how it is actually beneficial with both sides being 120v and they switch taking full amperage. I will check the ratings I know the push switch is rated but not sure about the...

Ok got everything in and now trying to run power. There is no coil or contactor that came with it. The guy I bought it from just said they hard wired it. All I have is 220v in, the switch wires, the overhead switch wires and the motor leads. I am not sure how to wire this up. The wiring diagram...

    2 post lift installation help

Ended up only being ~ 3/4" off when all done. I double checked the post i anchored and it was leaning back a bit so I fixed that and it pushed the far post out a bit more. Seems all good.

    2 post lift installation help

Yeah I didn't drill anything for a bit but wanted to put an anchor in after trying to put the crossbar up. I was just afraid of of toppling a post trying to put the crossbar on and dropping the other side off the post. It was just me putting it up on scaffolding so I didn't have anyone on the...

Hey GJ, Bought a used Challenger 10k VS10 and I started installing it. The installation measurements state that it should be 138" from side to side. I am setting it up asymmetrical. I chalked off 138" on the floor and got the posts up. I put a couple anchors in one side then put the...
