    13 mm wrench test

Καλή τύχη, υπομονή και κουράγιο. It will work out for the best, in the long run. Hang in there, and keep your head up.

Vise Stands. want to show yours off?? i need some ideas for using several vises

I am attaching a picture of my 5 inch Peddinhaus, which I mounted on a concrete filled rim. It works well, but I do plan to add a couple of wheels to make it mobile (much like a handtruck).

Recommend an inexpensive drill press for metal work?

I have had very good luck with bi-metal hole saws, at the lowest RPM setting (200-300 RPM), with cutting oil. I regularly drill 3/4 to 1 inch holes to stock up to 1/2 inch thick, without any issues, on my Chinese tabletop drill press. I found that slow RPMs, slow feed, and lube is the key.

Chinese socket set from the 60's

4xDOG, I found this set in Europe, where the export cituation with Chinese goods might have been more relaxed than in the States. It came from an old harware store that liquidated its inventory due to to the owner retiring. I was told he had them since the mid sixties, and what cought my...

My first 'YOU ****!' deal :)

HAKO86, I think you got a very good deal, providing that you can use these SAE sizes in Europe. What kind of vehicles and/or machinery will you use them on?

    Ingersoll Rand drill stand

I admit it is not the most practical tool in the world, but for whatever is worth it is very well made, with a velvet smooth movement. Surprisingly enough it was made in Los Angeles, I assume some time in the mid sixties to mid seventies. It rarely gets used since I have a drill press, but I...

    Leather tool box

Certainly not as cool as the tool box from Kaufmann's, but a leather tool box indeed. It was a standrard issue box for the field technicians of the local power company, in the 50's, and I inherited it a decade or so ago. I use it for storing my extra wrenches, more of a novelty and...

Chinese socket set from the 60's

NUTTSGT, this set is certainly a rarity, in a country that until recently was dominated by mostly German tools. In the last decade or so, with the help of DIY stores (HD and Lowes equivelands), the market is flooded with Chinese stuff, pretty much to the extend that is in the States.

Chinese socket set from the 60's

Hi guys, I found a primitive looking 1/2 inch drive socket set from the late 60's, and I picked it up, strictly as a novelty item, and a conversation piece. Other than that, condition wise, this thing is pristine as you can see, tin box and everything. Since the ratchet does not reverse with...

Lets see your vintage shop work lights

My prized possecion is a LUXO fluorescent magnifier lamp, I suspect it is somewhere between mid sixties to mid seventies vintage, phenomenal build quality, compared to todays junk. As I get older, and my eyes gets weaker, the more I appreciate the 5X magnification, for intricate work. Another...

Convert propane tank into compressor air tank ??

I have done something similar with a fire extinguisher, instead of a propane tank. Have been using it for years without any issues, either as a wheel around auxillary air tank, or in tandem with a small compressor I own, increasing its tank capacity from 5 to 25 gallons whenever need be.

Old tool from the old world (FEIN)

Hi guys, I have found an old FEIN 1/2 inch drill mounted on an equally old drill stand. The power cord is missing, but looking at the data plate I see that it is three phase, which leads me to belive it was used possibly as a production tool in a factory. With my limited German, I also see...

    Vintage Black & Decker Drill

Re: Vintage Black & Decker Drill This is a vintage Black & Decker 1/2 inch drill that still works flawlesly. It hardly gets any use now, in the age of cordless variable speed drills, but I don't have the heart to thash it.
