    Garage dumbwaiter

This is the attic hoist I made, using a 1300# 120v winch from princess auto ( think Canadian version of harbour freight). The dumb waiter section is removable if I need to lift something out of the back of the truck. The lift will also slide down the entire length of the attic to move heavier...

    Garage door opener recommendations

Installed 2 chamberlain 3/4 belt drives recently to replace 2 25 year old craftsman chain drive, very happy with them. I was able to get the chamberlains for $199 each on sale with battery back-up, 2 remotes, wall switch, keypad and the gateway. I mounted them 6" inside the track instead of...

    Jackshaft/side mount opener conversion?

I saw this video before, the questions I have would be: -does the opener still reverse if it contacts a 2*4 on the floor? -could the door be lifted up to gain entry in a robbery? -how to release the door for manual use?

Garage second floor "freight elevator"/dumb waiter

Here is a hoist I made to get items into my garage attic storage. It uses unistrut some 1 1/2 angle iron and a 1320# hoist. The hoist setup probably cost me about $300.

Sommer Door Opener - Side Mount Kit

I just mounted a Chamberlain belt drive tight to the side yesterday. Seems to work very well. I used unistrut for the mounting and bracing. Here is a video of it running

Anyone install their own wall mount garage door opener?

I just installed a new Chamberlain today, really wanted the 8500 but couldn't afford it. I ceiling mounted the opener but off tight to one side, should allow enough space for a lift install.

    Electric garage door lock

Saw the video 6 seconds to break-in to a garage. I was wondering if the electric lock from liftmaster jack shaft lift could be used to secure the door. Does anyone know what voltage the liftmaster locks are? I assume they are 24vdc.
