    The SK Tools Giveaway...

Dad was an SK guy, but he tended to lose tools along the way, so I inherited various parts of sets when he passed away. I'd love a new set, so please count me in!

How important is garage closely matching house style?

Teach, nice place, and love how the garage, with the two additions, shows how it has evolved over time. It gives the impression the garage is older than it really is. I personally think the closer to the house the garage is, the more important it match the house in color and style.

    Unexplained Doubling of Electric Use

DC73: Pretty sure the meter hasn't been replaced, as the monthly bill readings have continued to increase numerically. If it had been replaced, I'm assuming the readings would start over from zero (?). Checked the baseboard heat, it's not currently on. We did run it periodically in the...

    Unexplained Doubling of Electric Use

I'm looking for advice and ideas on figuring out why in the last year my home electricity use has doubled, with no significant changes I can pinpoint in our usage patterns. Looking on a month to month basis, it looks as if about 10 months ago our consumption increased, and it's pretty...

Rockwell Delta 10" Unisaw Table Saw - worth?

Can't help you with the value, but you'll find lots of information on Unisaws at www.owwm.org. Their forum rules expressly forbid value questions, but you might find info there on what to look for/look out for.

    My John Deere Workshop

Very nice. Agree we need tractor pictures. I'm betting it's something in the three number 2 cylinder series.

    Thoughts on Expensive House Paint?

Another vote here for SW Duration. For several years I used whatever the top of the line Olympic paint was from Lowes. It seemed pretty good, but I became less and less satisfied with it with each passing job. Duration was in a different class....went on smoothly and really did cover with one...

Shop Dolly. A Garage must have.

Harbor Freight furniture dollies are cheap and work pretty well. The small ones will tuck underneath my tool cabinet out of the way and easy to get to.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Put the finishing touches on a free Toro lawnmower I rescued from the curb. About 10 years old, covered with bird ****, and had obviously had no maintenance in it's life. Deck was still in decent shape, and it kind of ran when I got it. New plug, new air filter, cleaned the carb and put in a...

    Atlas benchtop DP.

Yes, those were made by Atlas. I have the same machine (I think...with the keyless chuck). Watch out for broken tabs which hold on the quill return spring cover (don't ask me how I know  ). I paid $25 for mine at an auction, but then paid $35 on eBay for a new spring cover.

Delta Rockwell Jointer and Drill Press

Sweet drill press and jointer. Regarding new bearings, there's a whole thread on ordering bearings from a firm known as Accurate Bearings on the Old Woodworking Machinery forum: http://www.owwm.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=93322 I can't speak from any personal experience with Accurate Bearing, but...
