    Straighten vise handle ideas

I would call up Wilton and ask them how to straighten it. If I was forced to make a bet, I would bet the handle is heat treated and heating it up would destroy that. I snapped a handle on an old Morgan one day trying to straighten it with a pipe. (It had a BIG bend) I figured if it bent the...

    Gearwrench sockets!

I have a full set of Gearwrench impact in 1/4" drive. They have held up just fine, although 1/4" obviously doesn't see a lot of torque. The only complaint it have with them is the wall thickness is a little bit on the thick side, so limited clearance applications are a challenge. If they are...

best 3/8 ratchet for home DIYer?

I really like the SK ratchet #45170. You can find them on ebay/pawnshops, etc. for about $15, sometimes a lot less. The heads are a little thick, but they are bulletproof. Find yourself a flex head, long handle ratchet with a thin head. You will be amazed how much more you will use it.

    Ratchets: SK vs Snap on

If you are buying ratchets for a nephew that will beat anything into the ground, loose it, break it, or otherwise mess it up, get a couple non-flex SK. $15 each for 3/8 drive standard handle used off ebay. Cant beat that. If you want something nice for yourself; Dual 80.

    1/2in Pneumatic Impacts

I have both an MG725 and a IR2135. The Snap On has more power overall. YMMV

I think this guy wins the toolbox contest (sorry if it's a repost)

Those all look like craftsman boxes to me.

Knipex Cobra vs Cobra Quick Set

YES!!!! I have a pair of quick adjusts and I hate them! Every time I get them out I start swearing and throw them, then go get a pair of the regular ones. They always adjust up too small and you have to re-adjust them 4 times with both hands. Then, half way through using them you have to repeat...

    Mid level Tools

I don't like my SO screwdrivers. Just sayin'. The tips are too soft and they slip easily. The grips are great, but the shanks ****. My "most bestest" suggestion would be Witte made Cornwell or Matco. My 2 cents, no offense intended to Farmall450, just stating my preference.

Gearwrench 120 4pc set or Snap on dual 80?

My vote: 13" SO flex head hard handle.

    I got a KRL-1033!

    Really nice upgrade, nice box!

Went to trade/upgrade my Mac Macsimizer for a Matco 6S...

I've got a Macisimizer. Its a sturdy box. They need to 'fix' (i.e. upgrade) the drawer detent so you can roll it without locking it first, but overall a really good box. $2200 out of pocket for the Matco is not that great of a deal IMHO, you can buy macsimizers for about that on craigslist if...

Which size metric fasteners for late 90's-2010-ish GM vehicles? Need new wrench set

Yup. What he said. Also 21mm for some suspension nuts. Get yourself the deep well 1/2 impact metric set from HF. It should have the size you'll need for axle nuts, in case you have to replace a wheel bearing. I've used 27mm on harmonic balancer bolts, and 32 and 36 for axle nuts...

Which thin walled sockets are the thinnest?

Get an old Craftsman from the '60's. Some of those were super thin - 1/2 drive, deep well, full length broaching. Almost scary thin, especially compared to modern "thin wall" impact sockets.
