    under pad sm insulation

Also living in the frozen north, I may be able to offer some help. I had my garage pad plans drawn up by a professional drafter and stamped by an engineer. (had to due to the size) Assuming this is a detached garage, my pour utilized a thickened edge. Meaning the outer edges of the concrete...

    radiant flooring

Most specialty heating and plumbing supply stores will provide a tubing layout plan based on dimensions of your garage. There are many pre-pour pics throughout this forum. The boiler instructions have detailed diagrams on how it all fits together. Again, the store you purchase the supplies...

    Garage stools @ Canadian Tire

This week Canadian tire has Torin garage stools on sale for $17.99. (60% off) I picked a couple of these up thinking they would be a decent garage stool. Got 1 set up, and as it turns out ... these are a GREAT garage stool. Swivel seat, commercial grade vinyl, 300lb load rating and SOLID...

OK ... I see where you guys are going with this. It's all in the way you look at it. I forgot my cutler hammer panel was like that. This to me, is two slots. As opposed to .... or .... Sorry for any confusion. Sorry to highjack this thread. Carry on .... :lol_hitti

Building a garage with a full home panel

Well, I have a cutler hammer panel in the garage. It has a 60 amp breaker in it that takes up 4 slots. How can a 100 amp breaker take up only 2?

Building a garage with a full home panel

Not that easy. A 30amp breaker takes up 2 slots in the panel. A 100 amp breaker takes up 8. (Stablock - Federal Pioneer anyway) And he said his panel is full. Only solution is to free up the required slots if you want to get 100 amps out of it.

Building a garage with a full home panel

I have a 200 amp panel in the house. In that panel there is a 100 amp breaker feeding my 100 amp panel in the garage. The key here is you're allowed to exceed that amperage by 70%. (Because you never expect to have everything on at one time) Your local code may vary, but its probably...

Can't wait for some garage time over Xmas!!!

I'll be putting up drywall, so I can finally park in my garage. With -30 degree temperatures (-45 with the windchill) it's becoming a nuisance to park outside! Not to mention shuffling vehicles around every time it snows so I can clear the driveway!

What to use for bottom of wall?

I'm finishing the inside of my garage with drywall. I have 9' walls. Now, I know that they sell 54" drywall for that purpose. First off, it's expensive. More importantly, I don't think I want to drywall right to the floor. (I don't have a footing around my garage, so my bottom plate is...

    My first garage!

Well, its been a while since I've posted any updates. I finished the siding two days before it snowed! (whew!) :bounce: This is what you get when you have your dad do some wiring for you. (free labour ) The new "Garaga doors" .... (worth every penny) And some misc...

    Chamberlain/Craftsman rail extension question

Problem solved. For the record, the extension kits are the same. A quick search revealed that both models used the same rail system. However, their extension kits have different part numbers. I bought the Sears one then bought the Chamberlain. Same kit. Assumption correct. kbs2244, I...

How do you calculate size and amount of rebar?

Not sure about your area, but here any slab 900 square feet or more REQUIRES an engineers stamp before you can get a permit. My 38x28 slab has 10mm rebar @ 16 oc, and the grade beam is 20mm rebar. Sorry about the metric system ... eh :canada:
