Cumaru (Brazilian Teak) & Steel Table

Complete new twist on a "trestle" table. Love the mixture of steel and exotic hardwood. The fabrication is inspiring.

    recommendations on a laser level???

I purchased the bosch for an expansion of our warehouse. Although they claim a 400+ foot range, I could not use it over a 100'. The receiver is far too sensitive for grading work. If your budget allows, the Leica would be my choice.

Circular Saw Purchase? Worm Drive or Direct?

Worm Drive. But if you are only doing light duty work, framing included, buy the 6-1/2" version. Much lighter and easier to control.

    Floor Slope?

Getting ready to break ground on a new detached 30 x 42' detached shop. I'm a woodworker/car guy, so I plan on using half of the shop for woodworking, and the other half building a 72 Chevelle Convertible with my son-in-laws and grandsons. Question is, would you slope the floor (1/8" +/- per...

Generac vs briggs and stratton stanby generator 2

When I had my house wired, I installed two-200 amp panels on a 400 amp service, one for non-emergency, and one for emergency (connected to the generator and ATS). The generator was tested with anticipated load during a power outage, and everything worked well. The issue was that during its...

Generac vs briggs and stratton stanby generator 2

I installed a 20kw Generac in my new home 5 years ago. About a year ago we had a thunderstorm and low and behold we lost power and the generator was not powering the house. It was running, but no electricity. I called Generac and explained that the first time I needed the generator it didn't...

Smuth's 32x40 Workshop Build (Planning Stage)

There is not definitive wire size that I've found. There are as many posts/thoughts/ideas on various forums as to whether or not its needed, and the proper way to install. Several installations I've read about us 16 gauge wire wrapped at one foot intervals. Not very familiar with LED's...

Smuth's 32x40 Workshop Build (Planning Stage)

Scott, I too am starting a shop building very much like your. 30 x 42, with 10' walls. 2x6 framing with 4" of spray foam insulation in the walls, and 12" of blown-in insulation in the ceiling. I live in Oklahoma, so no need to insulate under the slab, just a vapor barrier. I'm raising a section...

Looking forward to learning all I can before starting my new shop. Breaking ground in a few weeks in hopes of having it complete before winter.
