Brand new NOS Elora 3/8 mm socket set from 1979. I will keep it on display, I already have an ex-Bundeswehr Elora set from the same era that I use daily.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Here, T-Rex our German Shepherd and Lilou, our Bengal cat can't stand each other! They had to be separated in the house from the start because Lilou was very aggressive towards the T-Rex when he was a puppy. So sad!

    Tools from the old world

I forgot to say that the military sets are partly in metric, partly in AF and that the only Dowidat double wrench has both markings: 14 on one side and 9/16 on the other... 🤦‍♀️ It's the army, what the hell does a gap of 0.275 mm mean!

    Tools from the old world

New additions to my collection of 3/8 ratchets and ratchet sets. As I've said elsewhere, I like having the tools of my youth alongside my modern tools so when I had to go from 1/2 to 3/8 due to a broken scaphoid in my right hand , I looked for tools from the 60s to 90s. . Here are two ex...

What do Europeans use for tool storage?

I own the exact same Brüder Mannesmann red trolley and topcase that Monte showed in his post above. For the workshop in our new house I have seen some Gedore Bundeswehr workbenches and cabinets for machining tools and will buy one of the new Elora rolling workbenches for metric tools and will...

    The Ratchet Collection Thread

I must confess, I've never been a 3/8 ratchet man so far. I had lot of them in the past, mostly Snap-On and some Belzer and Hazet plus the local Lauravia and SAM as I was able to buy the remaining tools after the aero company Minerve collapsed. I sold quite a lot of them but the rest was stollen...

    The Facom Tools Thread.

My two Facom ratchets, a SL 161 in 1/2 and the NOS J.151B 3/8 made in Italy I recieved today alongside a 18.1 1" crowfoot with 3/8 drive.

    The Ratchet Collection Thread

Another Lauravia ratchet, in 3/8 this time while those in the photos above were all in 1/2. This one is more recent, the steel is much better and it bears the following inscriptions: Armée 41 H 1504 560. I think it dates from the time of the takeover of Lauravia by SAM in the mid 60'S which...

Some more ratchets. This Lauravia and the Eternum were made after 1946 and before 1952 for civilian use. Let me explain: until the end of 1946, all French production of tools was carried out either for the French army, for the American forces, or for large public companies such as EDF...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

T-Rex our long-haired German Shepherd who will be two years old next week. He is the sweetest dog in his job as a comfort dog at the retirement home or in the pediatric department of the hospital but he is a real beast if someone tries to go through the gate of the house! T-Rex in his...

    Tools from the old world

Yes, Leroy Merlin offers Facom tools but the majority of them are entry-level and manufactured outside the EU. And, if you want a tool that is not in their usual range, they will send you to an industrial distributor. On the other hand, they sell tons of Chinese junk...
