TING Electrical Surveillance - State Farm

There is no way I would hook up a company's device to my network. There is way too much incentive to gather valuable data that you don't think you're authorizing. Consider "home assistants" and doorbell cameras. Those have been proven over and over to send data out that the owner didn't intend.

Looking for ideas, i have a hose bib inside my garage, need a reel

Elay. I have had one on the outside of my house for 7 years now and it still looks and works perfectly.

    Building to building fiber compatability

Your parts list is good. I would recommend using a longer fiber cable, though. 20 meters is only around 66 feet, which doesn't leave you much wiggle room to get to your equipment. Don't worry about fiber length with regard to performance. With your parts list, you're good to 20km... When...

    The Bimmer Basement

FWIW, I think either Home Depot or Lowes sells those white food-safe buckets for around that cost as well. I know they at least used to. I use them with Gamma lids to store dog food. One of the two sold the buckets and the other sold the lids. I remember being rather annoyed having to make 2...

    The Bimmer Basement

I am no pro, but when I am trying to get a sharp transition between colors (either a stripe or a textured corner), I use the paint-over-the-tape trick. To do this, you paint one of your colors, but paint it past where you want your transition line. Once dry, lay out your line with the tape...

Help a non-audiophile with speaker selection please.

Opinions will vary, obviously, but a garage/workspace is likely to have **** acoustics. In such a place, I am not convinced that high-end gear is going to be appreciated over cheaper options. I put a pair of $30 indoor/outdoor "Dual" speakers from Amazon in my 20x20 garage with a tiny amp and I...

    Tire Loft?

I have the one in the first post and it held my spare set for 3 years now. No problems.

Looks like the doors from the Seville Classics cabinets I have.

    Wifi in the garage

You can't have two routers on the same FIOS fiber link. At least not in the way you're looking for. With your existing coax, you could probably put a set-top box in the garage and have TV service, but if you want a wifi source out there, you'll need to setup something different. One option is...

Internet over a long distance - 1.5 miles

I have had pretty good success with Ubiquiti dishes as well. I can't go that sort of distance around here because of trees and buildings, but the hardware is pretty solid. For the money, you can't beat it.

Best way to secure workbench top to wall

Mine is a 2x4 frame under the work top and the frame is lagged into all of the studs behind it. The bench is self-supporting, so the wall attachment is just for added stability. In your case, I would definitely add a center support. 96" is just too long to be unsupported along the front. It...

Cat-6a along power cable for garage supply?

100 meters is your max run length. You can go longer than that, but you should expect problems. My spec at work is ONLY for Cat6a in any new wiring jobs. Cat6a is sweet stuff, but I really cannot recommend it for your application. 6a's selling point is that is can handle 10Gb connections...

    TV wall mount

I have 4 Cheetah mounts of various types (low-profile, tilt/angle, single-stud, etc.) in use that I got on the cheap from Amazon. All work very well, particularly for the price.

    wall track systems?

I have the Rubbermaid stuff because I got a deal on it. It's been pretty good and I've found hooks for all the things I've wanted to hang. Not the best photos...

    Urinal vs. Toilet

I just received one of these in the mail. Unfortunately, the "neck" on my faucet is angled such that I can't fit the wash assembly on it. Is there such a thing an "adapter" I can screw on between the faucet and wash assembly to give me another 5mm+?
