    Driveway estimate

I just had a driveway poured. Mine was 16' x 30', 4" with mesh and stands per code requirements. This came in at $2700. The city then told me I had to finish the sidewalk as well. So that was 4' by 40'. Contractor charged me an extra $775 for that job.

Poor Man's Shop Finally Going Up

I got the building from these guy's. They had a booth setup at a big car show in town. And the salesman does a good job of passing out flyers and business cards at all the local Saturday night cruise in's. http://www.southtexascarports.com Price on this new building with taller legs and...

Poor Man's Shop Finally Going Up

Yup, old code enforcement guy made me take it down. Lost my $500 deposit on it. Since my last attempt the city has a whole new administration and they seem to be tax payer friendly. This new building is from another company. Excellent service, super fast installs. They showed up at 8:00AM and...

Poor Man's Shop Finally Going Up

**UPDATE** Can't believe it's been about a year and a half since my last update. My plan has so far worked out. I waited until some of the town administration changed, minds faded and gave my garage another try. This time, I went and asked for a permit for a 20x25 Carport / Patio - The city...

Poor Man's Shop Finally Going Up

Update: Well, it all went down the tubes. Code enforcement claims I didn't tell them I was building a garage. They said my permit was for a storage shed only. Which would not be hard wired for electricity. That will require another permit but not before turning in engineering plans which have to...

Poor Man's Shop Finally Going Up

Apologize for no recent updates guy's. But I ran into a problem with a neighbor. Now get this...I pulled my permit like I was told by my neighbor who works for the city. On Thursday, the code inspector guy shows up and tells the workers to stop building. I was home for lunch so I got to talk to...

Poor Man's Shop Finally Going Up

Thanks Zeke. I know it's not a mega-dollars garage. But it's something that will keep us out of the sun and give our projects some cover. The installers worked last night until 9pm. This thing takes a lot more re-enforcment than I imagined. They will be back today to install the roll up doors...

Poor Man's Shop Finally Going Up

I poured my slab about 3 years ago to give my boy's and I some where to work on our cars. We didn't want the neighbors complaining about us working on projects in front of the house. As you can see, it got quite the work out...lol. The pad is 20x25. I bought the shop from Coast To Coast...

    so your thoughts on this..

Nice...I just ordered this on Saturday. It's a 20x25, 12 gauge, a-frame with a vertical roof, two 8x7 rollup doors, man door and one window. Got it out the door for $5200.00. I went into one at the showroom in the middle of the day. And it was a lot cooler than I imagined. Can't hardly wait for...

Problem with Hobart 140 mig welder

Spool won't feed? It just clicks when I press the trigger. I pulled the cover and checked for binding and nothing. I removed the wire spool and clicked the trigger and still, nothing. All it does is click, click, click. Any ideas? :headscrat
