    Who Made HD Husky

It was sometime around 2003-2004 when they started offloading USA made tools. Most of that inventory was cleared out of the stores by 2006. I raided the clearance section heavily for most of my auto tools around that time period. Much of the tools from 2006-2010 was made in China and it had...

    Converting Garage into Living Space

To be fair, I have never seen a conversion that didn't look terribly half-assed. They also can be a negative on the inspection/appraisal when you go to sell. Sent from my moto g stylus using The Garage Journal mobile app

    Who Has A 120V Welder?

If you are using Fluxcore I recommend you use only the following wires: Blue Demon (Amazon) Hobart Anything else is typically really poor quality wire. Alot of people who use fluxcore complain about how bad it is, but you need the correct speed/diameter for your amperage usage. A good wire...

    Recommend a 12V test light

Their automotive logic test probe is pretty nice too. I have used it several times for finding short circuits in my vehicles. I've used both on and off for almost 10 years now and they are pretty handy to have.

    120V Welder Question

I've put down pretty decent welds on sheetmetal with a DC inverted stick welder as well. It's not easy as you point out but I learned a trick from a friend of mine, use a large piece of brass on the back side of your project to act as a heat sink of sorts. It's not always viable for some...

    Engine Load Leveler

The older models of the HF one were complete garbage (around 7-8 years ago). This was mainly due to the lead screws stripping out. The newer manufactured ones are pretty decent, just make sure to grease the lead screw.

Husky 36" 12 drawer chest thoughts

These newer model Husky tool chests are much better built than the ones from 2-3 years ago. If that's the price for both parts of that chest, you should definitely purchase it.

1/4 and 1/2 drive deep sockets

I prefer Universal/Spline sockets in these situations (since they can be used on 6,12,square,spline,etc). The main reason was because I had to tear down a Kia Rio motor and found that it was literally 12 points and Spline. I have a couple sets I use specifically on import cars because you never...

    magnetizing screwdrivers . . . .

That type is the older style. These are a vast improvement over those.

    What is this?

Also use grease on these so you don't bind them up on the stud you are removing. I have used one dry on a really difficult stud and it bound up and I was unable to separate the tool from the stud.

    Needle scalers

This, I got one on ebay that allows me to use the Harbor Freight replacement needles. Still running strong today after 15 years of abuse.

Why does this ratchet ****, also whatzit?

The tri-wing was quite unpopular with the people I knew growing up. The main complaint was the wings would get caught on something you were removing and it would accidentally reverse the ratcheting mechanism on you mid-job (especially if the mechanism was kind of loose). I experienced this a...

    Tekton tools

Pros: Great customer service, very inexpensive stuff that comes with decent quality control Cons: Some products can be hit or miss especially when they first release them. I had to warranty a 1/4 torque driver twice because they got a bad first batch of these when they initially released it. I...

How to remove this broken exhaust stud?

Yeah you gotta be careful with that style of removal tool. I always use some sort of grease on mine because I learned that lesson the hard way.
