Wow, I’ve found intumescent varnish too: here and here. Could make wood ceiling trusses look mighty unique. From hacking around on the internet, it seems like intumescent products are more readily available on the “other side of the pond”. Wonder why that is? .

Anyone have experience with Intumescent Paint? Link to news clip I have some flat roof trusses that I might want to leave exposed, but thinking about fire safety. (Not adjacent to living space, so not code regulated.) Looks like it may be available for covering foam insulation as well...

I purchased a 5-bulb, 50-foot, string of temporary contractor lights to run overhead in my shop. The package emphatically states not to use as permanent lighting and to unplug when not in use. To my untrained eye, they look to be of better quality than the florescent fixtures that are there...
