What is up with my greasy hose!

I have the same problem. I also got my hose at HF, but it's the store brand, cheaper than GY by $5 (yea I'm cheap). It's stayed greasy since I opened it up. I think it's probably something that the manufacturer sprayed on to keep the rubber from deteriorating, like a sealer almost. I'm thinking...

The floor is finished! On to the walls...

Very nice!!! I'm still debating between Daytona ($?), RaceDeck ($2.99) , or Swistraxx ($3.49). One question: why did you remove the baseboards? I don't think I will, too much work. I'll paint the bottom portion of the wall a darker color like you, but leaving the baseboards alone. thanks,

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

Beautiful floor! How did you finish the tiles at the bottom of the walls? Did you leave a little gap and paint the baseboard? I can't tell if you have baseboards or not. Also, what kind of lift is that? And I'm assuming you tiled around the lift, and not put the lift on top of the tiles? Thanks!

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

that's a great idea to seal the tiles afterwards. How will you prep the floor before laying the VCTs? Are you going with pure black and white tiles, or with some speckles in it? I saw Lowes have them for like $0.68 each. Thanks,

    Thanks! That explains it.

Plain white and black tile flooring?

I checked out Lowes, and they have them for $0.69 each. I wanna do the checkerboard pattern, but will likely get black (speckled is fine withme) and gray. White is just too much maintenance.

How did you prep. floor for VCT tile?

Just to clarify, VCT are NOT the self-adhesive tiles. I went to Home Depot and Lowes, and both types of tiles are sold there. The self-adhesive tiles are thinner and there's no way that glue on the back side will stay for long. The VCTs have no adhesive, you have to apply the glue yourself...

What option would you recommend for me?

I've been thinking hard about epoxy, vct, or racedeck. I've been reading post after post, seeing numerous photos on here, and still can't make up my mind. Please help. Here's the relevant info: 2 separate, unconnected garages (20 x 21) and (10 x 14). To start out, I will only do the smaller...

If I fill in the expansion joints, wouldn't that void my home warranty? Since the concrete has nowhere to expand, would they cause cracks elsewhere as expansion occurs? Thanks,

Just moved into the new house yesterday, and I don't think I can do tiles on that floor. The expansion joints are almost 1/2 inch wide! :( Oh well, forget the checkered flag pattern. I'll go with the epoxy.

Thanks a lot for all your input. I assume these tiles can hold up fine to jackstand pressure? No dent in them with a car on the jackstands? Originally I was gonna go with the ucoatit.com epoxy, but I really want to do the checkered pattern, and tiles are a lot less labor intensive. I have a...

Nice! The red car too! Can you tell me approximately how deep and wide your garage is? And also, how did you prep the concrete surface before laying down the tiles? And what adhesive did you use? Thanks!!!

    Where to get VCT?

How did you prep the floor before laying down the adhesive? What adhesive did you use? I'll try some other Home Depot. Very nice garage!!! I had a 94 C-package, and now an 06 MX-5 as well. Thanks for the help, PS: Is this what you have...

    Where to get VCT?

I went to Home Depot and Lowes, neither carries them. I read on here that some other members got theirs from Home Depot. Did a search on homedepot.com and no such thing exists. Thanks!

For those who tiled their floor, what about the

base of the garage walls? In my garage, the walls are dry walled and painted (it's a new house). However, there is an approximately 6" high section of exposed concrete berth at the bottom. Sorry I don't have a photo to show this. The structural studs and the dry wall sit on this berth. I'm SURE...
