Thank you for the input, but not what I asked. Insurance stuff has already been settled. They are paying for the repairs. As the removal of the wall and FP is not a repair, they are not covering that.
Admin, delete if needed.
After the December rainstorm here in SoCal, we had some water damage to our home. Got insurance involved, found out what repairs they were willing to cover. Damages included 2 leaky windows and water leaking down our chimney flue.
We don't use our fireplace, haven't once...
I have an Atlas 1120 drill press, circa 1940's. Today, this plastic quill drive coupling broke on me. I wouldn't have expected a tool of this vintage to have a plastic coupling, but it did. Is this unobtanium and is my drill press done for? Ideas?
I use a vintage Reference by Quadraflex 650 FET-R reciever with a JVC 6 disc changer, and some somewhat tatty looking but great sounding Athena AS-F2 speakers, with a plug-in Bluetooth receiver. Most all the cds and some vinyl have been ripped to .wav and. flac files on my phone and my Fiio, but...
Painted the frame for a BMX I'm rebuilding. 1999 Haro Supra SX/DLX. Had the same kind when I was younger, foolishly got rid of it. Found another. Building this one as a "what if", if I still had my original, how would it be now?
Changed front, rear diff and transfer case fluid on my Tacoma.
Small rant. Needed a 24mm 6 point socket for the rear diff drain and fill plugs. Didn't have a 24mm, but had a 15/16" 12 point. Close enough? Nope. While it worked fine for the Transfer case plugs, not so on the higher torqued rear...
Got the toolbox for one of my Daughters near complete. Just need to paint the tray. Also made some organizers for my CD collection (yeah, I still like physical media).
Worked on a thrasher "Wal-goose" bike. My bmx bikes that I restore/modify are usually higher quality than this, but it's for an extra that the neighbor kids can ride. Keeps them off either of my daughter's Haros or my nephew's Haro. Built with parts I have lying around, so if it gets thrashed...
Spent the better part of today changing all 4 brakes on my 2014 Tacoma. Fronts are easy enough, but I hate drums. It goes to the shop next time it needs rears!
Threw this together for an old Matco top chest that I can't find a matching base for. Sort of like a tool cart. My welding is a bit rusty, and I think my machine could use a new liner. Either way, I have never been a cosmetic welder, but rarely do they ever break. Still need to paint it.
