    Buffer/polisher 12v or electric

I have the 3" Griot's which I use for small areas on cars and also on the guitars I build and it works great, should be perfect for a motorcycle. Hammer71's suggestion of a new smaller backing plate is great too. I did that with my old polisher when i upgraded making it a 4" so I have 6.5", 4"...

What solder do you use for electronics?

I use .031" for everything I do which is mostly guitars with some guitar pedals and amps too and the occasional car stereo or something like that. I never had a problem with the thinner gauge for all of that stuff, I just adjust my feed speed if I need more or less. That said it can never hurt...

somebody recommend a REALLY good wash mit..

If you're talking about the typical Meguiar's compounds and polishes like things from the "ultimate" line that are found at pep-boys and similar it's actually a bit of an illusion that they're better than the pro grade stuff. The typical over the counter compounds and polishes have a bunch of...

somebody recommend a REALLY good wash mit..

Here ya go as far as microfiber mitts go you're not getting any better than this zerocuff mitt since (as the name implies) it has no stiff cuff on it that could potentially mar soft paint. You can also use it without your hand in it with no fear of dragging the nylon cuff across paint like a...

What solder do you use for electronics?

Same here. I build guitars, FX pedals and do some amp modifications along with using it for any other electronics or automotive (stereos mostly) wiring and it works great for everything I ever needed it for.

I decided to move over to Wera screwdrivers, hex drivers and nut drivers for my guitar work (I build guitars) so I bought all the sizes needed for guitars to replace all my green Snap-On stuff which are better suited to automotive work than guitars it turns out. The Wera's fit guitar screws...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Now that's one bad *** tool box! I've been a fan of Pastrana since '99 when I watched the X Games and after winning the event he launched himself out of the arena into the San Francisco bay. He just kept raising the insanity bar since then. :rocker:

    My torque wrench test

Thanks for the info. Makes me feel better about the 1/2" HF I use for my lugs. I was always curious just how accurate it was based on the crazy low price.

    My torque wrench test

They tested the harbor freight ones? What were their findings?

This is the first time I ordered from them. Things look promising though since I placed the order online at just before 10am and got a UPS shipping email saying it shipped out at 4pm on the same day. Can't beat that for service. I'll know on Tuesday when my order gets here if they got it all...

    Favorite screwdrivers

My phillips Enderes is still going strong but the corner of the tip broke off on the flat blade so I pulled the blade and stuck in a magnetic hex bit holder and made it a universal driver.

How do you like the cushion grip Craftsmans? I just ordered the 19pc set along with a few other things from Epstein's yesterday.

    Favorite screwdrivers

Odds are that's about right since a bunch of my tools are late 70s to mid 80s hand me downs from my father and older brother which is where my lone orange/black Stanley came from along with a few different variations of the plastic handle Craftsmans and two clear handle Enderes USAs also.

    Favorite screwdrivers

I have a single #2 Phillips black/orange Stanley and always wondered how old it was. What's the ballpark age range of them? Any idea? I love that thing and have put it through hell and the tip is still good and the handle while it looks used doesn't look abused like some of my late 70s early...
