    Show off your vintage lathe.

Except for the lineshaft conversion, that one looks awfully similar to mine!

    Show us your sewing projects!

I'm almost ashamed to share this after that delicate dress work... I put new pockets on my oldest Carhartt jacket. Most people probably would have thrown this away 2 or three times by now . I took a worn out pair of pants that were a similar canvas-type material, and cut out what I needed...

    Show us your sewing projects!

I made several kid-sized 3-man waterballoon launchers for an upcoming party out of old jeans and ratchet straps: And after getting used to the machine, I made a backrest cover for my golf cart: None of it is anywhere close to perfect, but don't think it's terrible for being the first...

    In-floor Scissor Lift Install

I don't know if there are different chromes on cylinder rods, but excavators, loaders, log splitters, etc. get wet all the time. As long as you don't aim at / blow water past the seals, I think it'd be ok.

Below 265 SQ/FT Tiny Tokyo Shop

Geez, that's nothing... I can get a gold ratchet at Harbor Freight... :lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti Seriously, the one you posted is a wonderful looking tool!

    Machined jack extensions

Nice work! I've got plans to make a couple extensions as well. It just hasn't been high on the priority list yet.

QCTP Sizing - AXA or BXA

That is the main reason I was thinking I'd want that one - if it'll fit. That's probably true, especially with how I have the tension set right now. I've got it tight enough to work, but loose enough to slip if I screw something up. One time I had the lantern loosen/move and jam and the belt...

QCTP Sizing - AXA or BXA

I'm looking to get a wedge style QCTP for my lathe, and I'm struggling to choose between AXA size or BXA size. I've got a spreadsheet setup to calculate the maximum and minimum heights of each tool, using the maximum size tool each can fit (I assume that will be the worst case scenario). The...

    Garage Not Air Sealed..

If you truly believe the fans running 24/7 may be pulling the odor in, turn off the breaker they're on. Sure, they may be on the same one as the bathroom lights, or something similar, but that shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience for a few hours (or a day) compared to what you've already...

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

Your method makes perfect sense. That's the same method I've used to replace leaf springs on my Jeep (no air suspension to raise it though - that makes it easy!). Yours is just a little heavier. I can't see why anyone would argue, but that's the internet... I would definitely take your word...

Bought a used wood Stove now what?

Definitely go straight up if you are able. It will have the best draw, more heat transfer, and fewer bends to try to clean. Plus, either way you do it, you'll need a kit to go through the structure.

Mastering of Hackery - welding a SDS bit.

Re: Mastering of Hackery - welding a SDS bid. This is my thought as well.. Is it wedged tight in the pipe? Since it's only ~12" in, can a shopvac get it?

    rattle_snake's random shop projects v0.1

Was there no room to install the bolt the other direction? Even if you turned the tires to get the tie rod at it's farthest forward point? I'm assuming you looked at this, but with my luck, I'd do all the work and then realize there was an easier way.. :lol_hitti
