    Permenant boundery markers

That's state by state. Here in CA we are not required to I'm not aware of anyone that does. GPS can create false certainty, too, where people will think their cell phone is a legit way to find the property line (it is orders of magnitude less accurate than a surveyor's setup) etc.

    Permenant boundery markers

Bury rebar in the trench and find it with a metal detector. Take measurements from some easily identifiable point to get started later on. And / Or : have a surveyor come shoot in anything / everything you need and have them produce a sketch map showing location of house, septic, etc along with...

    Weatherizing a steel / T&G built barn

Hey folks, Wife and I just bought a place with a barn. The house is a house, yadda yadda, I'm excited about the barn. It's galvanized steel frame, 36x36, posts at all four corners & every 12' along the sides so I __12'__ I __12'__ I __12'__I if you can follow my ASCII diagram here The posts...

    Semi-permanent barn flooring?

The little lady and I are moving in to a new place with a ~45x45 horse barn on it. The center 15x45 strip is a slab with (3) 15x15 stalls on either side of it, one of those stalls (the tack room) is poured concrete as well. The rest are dirt. I'm a bit hesitant to pour concrete in the...

    12v vs 18, 20 volt cordless?

I no longer work in building / mechanical trades. Hobbyist / homeowner usage only. I want a smallish cordless that I can use to drill pilot holes hanging things around the house and put in a few screws maybe as much as a 2" drywall screw. Impact-wise - I don't need to bang lug nuts on and off...

    One-car garage project

Earlier in the year, the wife was smokin' busy with work and had to work after dinner some evenings. This left us with a few choices: let the toddler scream at her for ignoring him while she worked, force her back out of the house, or Clay and I could buzz off. I didn't like any of those options...

Using cabinet uppers as a work bench?

In the end, I didn't have the tools / confidence / giveadamn to do it "right". I screwed 2x4 cleats in to the studs & hung the cabinets level to the cleats. I'm going to use 4x4 / scrap lumber blocks & shims to support the cabinets underneath, trim to fit as discretely as I can get them, then...

Using cabinet uppers as a work bench?

Ok, so, anyone have tips for building a tapered toe kick? I'm coming up with free hand circular saw, or do some math and clamp down a guide. Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk

Using cabinet uppers as a work bench?

The garage came with ~12' of cabinet uppers on the wall that I've since taken down. Rather than trashing them, though, I thought they'd make a useful cabinet / workbench along one of the walls. The catch is that the floor slopes 3 1/2" in that 12' run. So, hang them on the wall level & try to...

Where to run garage door wiring

I'm doing insulation and sheet rock on the walls and ceiling in an existing garage. Do I want to run the garage door sensor wiring hidden under the sheet rock or keep it accessible? All the Romex is getting buried but unsure on the garage door.

    3x US Vises

Revision to the sell list + pics The order probably won't match the pictures, here, but... I've got a 3 1/2" Athol vise with a swiveling rear jaw and swivel base. Not many vises were made with the swiveling rear jaw, which allows you to firmly grasp, say, a splitting wedge which would be a PITA...

Salvage motor from integrated motor / water pump?

As the title implies, I've got 2x 1.5HP AC motors that, instead of a NEMA end plate, are siamesed to (broken) water pumps. I keep thinking there has to be a way to salvage the motors but... dunno. Anyone have experience here? I'd love to run a 1.5 horsepower belt-driven buffer / grinder setup...

I need a 1/2-13 threaded swivel handle / swivel nut for an Athol. Any help / leads appreciated.
