I'm in 3. right now, the "others". Most of the prices I see on idealo I can't get because most German online shops wont ship outside Germany, or will ship to 2. only. Or they will charge 30-45eur shipping to 3. that makes it prohibitive to buy 1-2 tools.

So the Pressol oiler kept weeping small amounts of oil after putting it back after each use. It was not coming from the nozzle/ drip catcher - and always accumulated around the base. I reached out to Pressol, they made me go through the supplier for warranty and today that package was picked up, as they wanted the, likely defective, oiler back. So they should have this sometime next week. Let’s see how that goes from here. The only other explanation I can possibly think off is that the oil is too thin for this type oiler. But I really don’t know how realistic that is and no one in the process so far asked what oil I’m using with it. So I did include the spec sheet. We’ll see I guess.

So I received the oiler back today. I’m not really 100% happy at this point because it was as badly, or should I say carelessly, packaged as the first time it came and the nozzle penetrated the packaging. But it seemed dry all around. There was some oil inside the oiler, either mine, or theirs from testing. At this point I do not know what parts were exchanged or if something was repaired - I inquired about that.

However, after filling, the oiler was incredibly hard to prime/ get to function normally/ correctly which is another “let down” - and only time will tell if it functions properly from here on now, or if there is going to be more “messing around” needed down the road. We will see.

I’ll keep you updated along the way.

How much pressure can you put on with this screwdriver type twist handle?

Every time I see someone using them (outside of woodwork), they're always cranking hard on them and it looks like this is the limiting factor rather than the structural strength of the clamp. They're rated for 5-6000N.

I'm looking for something that can squeeze harder than trigger quick clamp, to pull things into position. Looking at this F type screw clamps either with this type or handle or with sliding T bar.

The Bessey lever clamps are very strong. I have bent the bar on one just using the mechanism.

Below is the old version. Notice the relative proportions of the head vs. handle length. However, leverage is a trade off, so I expect the new ones require more handle movement for the same amount of jaw opening.



The timing of my recent purchase was unfortunate, so I got the new comfort grips but old mechanical design.

New Slim Knips 78 61 (at 3:30). Available with or without holster, and the holster is available separately (compatible with 125mm Super Knips)

So I received the oiler back today. So, final update/ conclusion on this:

The oiler does not leak/ weep anymore and does function. No more oily hands when picking it up and the tissue I put underneath is dry/ oil free. That is great.

I did try to get some more information, but by now having had 3 different customer service reps from the dealer answering my e-mails, the last e-mail I got was just plain *dumb* - as if none of the prior communication and actions had ever happened. I just quit - not worth it.

From what I can piece together, the oiler I received was/is a new one, who tested it, I don’t know and will never know.

After advising me to go through the dealer, Pressol “left the chat” and did not resume communication with me on their own/ after they supposedly got the defective unit through that dealer. I have to assume they are not interested in communicating with me, that is OK.

At the end of the day I got what I initially paid for and didn’t have any additional cost - so all good.

I don't know what's worse dealing with stupid service reps right away or going through the "dial 1 for this, dial 2 for that, and after about a half hour dial 99 to talk to a person." I'm afraid I would have told them to stick the oiler where the Sun doesn't shine and bought another brand.

I went through the number dance the other day, dial 1, dial 3, dial 2, dial 8 to talk with a person. Thank God a person, turned out to be someone from India that I couldn't understand what they were saying. I said sorry I'm hard of hearing and hung up. Went back to the number dance and after about 10 numbers I got the info I needed.

Found this Unior 1901 1/2” ratchet today. Seems like a solid tool, strong and the ratchet works nicely, although it’s low tooth count.

I'd certainly expect them to start appearing soon, unless they are already in some places. Might be hard to find given the model codes are unchanged. You might need to check the photos and ask the retailer to confirm.
