    Tools of Japan

These items were from Daiso, the 100 yen or “Dollar Store”. Items were $0.89 at current exchanges rates. I think these are actually Chinese made so apologies for the sacrilege on posting them on this thread, but I did buy them in Japan. The curved toothed blades are excellent for hand clearing...

    Tools of Japan

I think I showed tremendous restraint and dropped only $220 on a few sundry items. These were made in Japan: This stuff in the following photo is mostly Taiwanese with a few Chinese items (the curved pliers in the bottom had nice ergonomics). Had to stay true to my unashamed love of Harbor...

    Tools of Japan

It's a mega store the size of a mall but it's own store. Imagine Walmart on steroids. For example, it’s home/garden/construction section is the size of a Home Depot, it has it's own food court with a dozen restaurants, full sized supermarket, etc. Mostly cheap/less expensive items but basically...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Thanks guys. I didn’t include pics of the primer coats. After an initial scrub down with brushes and Simple Green, I used an orbital sander and drill with wire wheels to get the bulk of the rust off, then gave it an over night soak in Evaporust. I applied plenty of primer and enamel coats...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Here’s a 24” Craftsman 65141 that I got for $4 at an estate sale. It had areas of moderate rust and was starting to pit on the bottom, so I cleaned it up and repainted it.

    Let's see your small workshop

You packed a lot of stuff in there and it doesn’t even look cluttered. Nice job. It looks like a good workspace, especially with the open center space. This should turn out to be a good thread! Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Gear Wrench 8 Piece SAE or Metric reversible w/ bonus $10 at NAPA

My Napa also didn’t have the deal and hadn’t heard of it. The original posted ad at the beginning of this thread still lists it at $10 but when you put it in your cart it jumps to $37.99. It’s also listed as a 7 piece set when clearly it’s 8 wrenches in the pic.

    2018 Garage Sale Thread

KDoug wrote: Great deal. I bought a similar well used Coleman 413G alone for $20 last week at the ReStore and thought I had a good deal. It was mildly rusty, banged up and dusty but there was fuel in the tank and it fired right up! The date of manufacture is printed on the underside of the...

    Diamond Tool and horseshoe company

Discovered that I picked up a Diamalloy 10" adjustable wrench in a mix of stuff at at an estate sale. The tolerances are very tight. Makes my Proto and Crescent adjustable wrenches look sloppy. Definitely will keep my eye out for more!

    Outdoor workbench

I agree. Especially with Tapperman's 2x4 wood top, that's an excellent value heavy duty bench. Pics of mine (it's an indoor bench, pardon the clutter):

    Outdoor workbench

Nice bench Tapper. I have similar steel legs (by Lyon) on my steel topped workbench. The lower shelf and rear back brace adds stability. I mounted mine on 2x6" planks with casters so it's mobile, and it adds more height making it more like a stand up workbench. The legs can be found online at...

Solar Swimming Pool Heat DIY with Hubitat / Webcore Automation

Love it and thanks for posting. For those in a sunny spot, a sheet of black plastic floating on the surface of the pool does wonders very cheaply.
