    Precision Straight Edge

Maybe I am lucky and have not seen a piece like that. I check them on our Comparator or OGP when needed.

    Precision Straight Edge

If that's all the flatness you need you could also purchase some precision ground flat stock for much less. It obviosly would not have the marking a ruler would.

    Deflection....

Are you going to leave the chain link or change to a ornamental iron type of fence? If you are changing to a more secure fence I would think that going from the square tubing you are hinging off of now to the other square tubing at each end could strengthen, or lessen the deflection.

Mechanics On Their Feet all Day

Re: Mechanic's On Their Feet all Day Timberland Pro. I wore numerous other brands and these are more comfortable and much lighter than others I have tried. They do wear out faster than my others but the comfort makes up for it.

So I bought a bandsaw, a big one, really big.

That appears to be 30's if not earlier. A guy i worked with had one with similar wheels to that, I think he said it was from the teens.

    HOT DEAL Index!!

Sears professional screw drivers deal. The Sears near me is re-organizing the tool section and has some of the professional screw drivers in the clearance bin. 39.99 set for 24.00 and some singles. Not all of the professional set's are in there. I'm not sure if this is the same at all of the...

    Small Mill Decisions...

I'm not sure where you are located but they are everywhere in Southern California. Try looking for a used machine dealer or a business that repairs machinery in your area.

    7075 goodness

Blue, You may want to ask if the finish will be the same after stripping the old anodizing off. I only say this because the few times I have had it done the parts that have been re-done were much more dull than the new ones. I'm not sure if it has to do with the process to strip it or not.

Wife mentioned the dreaded word: Condo

Ole Red, My wife and I went through something similar almost 2 years ago. We were getting out bid on everything offering as little as 10K over asking. Houses in our price range were gone within days of being listed and it was fustrating to say the least, it just wasn't happening for us. After...

    Giving tools away

I regularly give my friends tools I have no use for. I have a couple of bottom boxes that have a lot of duplicates I will never use. I also had a few boxes from some tool lots I purchased that I have given away. For me, it's not worth the hassle of making a couple bucks when I know someone I can...

Cordless drill dilemma 1/4" vs 3/8" chuck

I am in the market for a new small drill to carry around in my bag at work. I will be buying a Milwakee 12v product and don't see a advantage to having a 1/4" hex. I feel that it will limit what I can and cannot do. While it may be nice if I were to only use a certain size drill bit, screw or...
