    homemade funnel holder??

Here's mine: It's made out of rain gutter and some scrap PVC from our pool pump installation. The rain gutter catches any drips that fall off when trying to get the funnel back to the PVC tube that acts as the holder/drain for the funnels.

Before and after, my 3 car garage project

15 months ago I bought my first garage. Rumor is that there is also a house somewhere on the property, but I couldn't swear to it. Anyway, it's kind of a strange shape. It began life back in 1991 as a single car detached. In 2008, the single car was turned into an office, and a 3 car...

Installed Atlas OH9000 2 post lift, initial reviews/thoughts

I'm using wedge anchors, them hitting the bottom of the lift base plate is impossible. I used a 4 foot level to guide my installation. I had the level on and off the columns probably 40 times during the process, I can't imagine that I put it on the same way everytime. I have more than one...

    Bull's Vidmar-velous Deal

Careful about letting people know how you got it. Taking garbage from the USAF is against the United States Code of Military Justice. You can't get in any trouble, but the kid that took it could. When I was active duty, my shop spent about 2 million dollars with a local Snap-on man outfitting...

The columns on my 2 post lift twist under load?

I just bought and installed a 9000 lb. Atlas 2 post lift. I noticed something sort of disturbing last night while in the garage. The columns twist slightly when I pick up my 95 K1500 truck. It's not a lot of movement, but I hate the idea of the columns reacting to the weight in anyway...

What Kind of Car Lifts does everyone use in their shop?

I also have an Atlas 2 post. So far, it's done everything I've asked it to do. However, one thing that causes me some concern is the columns flexing under load. With a car on the lift, I can't detect any flex/movement, but with my 95 K1500 on it, the columns twist slightly. I don't think...

Installed Atlas OH9000 2 post lift, initial reviews/thoughts

They are 3/4 anchors. Still having a small wobble with the truck on the lift. I increased torque to 125, and that seems to have nearly solved the problem. However, I did notice something that is troubling me... The lift columns twist slightly when they take on the weight of the truck. I...

    Hose reel location

I had a 25 foot manual reel on the wall, and it worked great. Height was about 6 feet. I replaced it with a 50 foot retractable on the ceiling, in the center of my 28 x 30 garage. The retractable is nice, but when I pull the hose down and try to move around a car, the hose is always banging...

Torque spec for lift base plate anchors?

Wobbling the truck must have pulled the anchors up a small amount. I was able to get another 1/4 turn or so almost all the bolts before hitting 90 ft. lbs. I haven't had time to lift the truck again, but I am pretty confident that was my issue. Also, in my brain, tightening to 150 then...

Installed Atlas OH9000 2 post lift, initial reviews/thoughts

The installer from Greg Smith said that 90 ft. Lbs. is adequate, and that I should re-torque the anchors after wobbling the truck. I'll do that tonight when I get home. I'm familiar with concrete anchors, and have made the mistake of not driving them deep enough in the past, but with this...

Installed Atlas OH9000 2 post lift, initial reviews/thoughts

Well that's not good. The concrete anchors were supplied by atlas, so I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. I'll reach out to Greg Smith and see if I can find some exact torque values. Right now, all the bolts are torqued to 90 ft. Lbs. I was able to level/plumb the columns in all directions...

Installed Atlas OH9000 2 post lift, initial reviews/thoughts

Finished up the install on my new lift this Saturday. I've never had a lift before, and after much reading I ended up choosing an Atlas 9000 lb. 2 post lift, part number OH9000. I chose this lift because it was direct drive, and seemed to be a good value for the dollar. Shipping was super...

Torque spec for lift base plate anchors?

Anchors were supplied by Atlas, just in a clear plastic bag. No name brand or anything on them, so I'm not sure who made them. I went to 90 on all of them.

Torque spec for lift base plate anchors?

I'm working on installing a 2 post lift. I'm curious what you guys would use for a torque spec on the 3/4 inch concrete anchors that hold the base plates to the floor. Lift is a 9000 lb. Atlas, model number OH9000.

    Air Hose Fitting

http://www.mcmaster.com/#steel-pipe-fittings/=gzt3s0 If I am reading/comprehending your post correctly, I think P/N 44605K244 is what you are looking for. If not, McMaster-Carr probably has it.

Just pulled the trigger on a 2 post lift - 9,000 lb. Atlas

I just ordered a 9000 lb. Atlas lift from Greg Smith Equipment. I went with the OH9000, details can be found here: http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/2-Post-Lifts I chose this lift because I wanted one that was direct drive, as opposed to chain over hydraulic. I've never had a lift before...

Bendpak VS Forward 2 post lifts VS ???

Do you guys think Atlas OH9000 is worth the extra cost over the 9KOH? It's about $300 more, but you get direct drive cylinders with no chain. Think that is worth it? Can anyone shed some light on the 'super symmetric' arms Atlas offers? I can't find a picture of them on the web, and I'm...

Bendpak VS Forward 2 post lifts VS ???

If you guys think the Atlas is comparable to the Bendpak / Forward; that's an easy decision since it's about $1000 cheaper.
