Do I need a low profile passthrough ratchet and sockets?

Basically the only time you need pass through sockets if you already have ratcheting wrenches is if it’s recessed and too long for a deep socket, rare scenario to be sure. Low profile ratchets on the other hand are quite useful if you don’t have one already, same goes for bit ratchets which IMO...

    Most comfortable work boots?

That being said cost is at least somewhat an object for most so another great option is red wing supersole 2.0’s which I also wear plenty, not on the same level by any means but they’re probably the most comfortable workboot I’ve ever worn that comes at a normal price range, kinda like getting...

    Most comfortable work boots?

OP obviously must have bought something already, but in any case…. If you actually don’t care what they cost the answer is nicks or white’s boots without a doubt, and if you want them to be as comfortable as possible go with the custom option. I have a pair of nicks hotshots and despite being...

    nut drivers

I think a big part of the reason nut drivers are so impractical for most is that they’re usually fixed handles, I know I wouldnt use mine nearly as much if they were like that, instead I use a roll of interchangeable shanks from xcelite with a regular screwdriver handle and this ratcheting...

    Recommendations on Stud Extractors/Removal Tools?

The old school ones get about as good a grip as is possible, so do knipex cobras if you have the room but other than that don’t know of any other methods besides what’s already been said, those socket looking ones are probably as good as it gets for tight spaces

    nut drivers

They don’t have many applications for mechanics which is why so many view them as useless, they’re best for small and low torque bolts and especially where there’s no room or it’s impractical to swing a ratchet, and being low torque it’s much faster to turn than a ratchet would be. Electronics...

Need to replace my Dremel model 800 for something else that does not shut off every 10 seconds of use.

Had a similar issue with mine, replaced it with an astro pencil air die grinder, amazing how something can be twice as powerful in that small a package

    Best Screwdrivers

You’re definitely not the only one that thinks that, i think it looks as good as it is useful but they’re very divisive people tend to love it or hate it

    Best Screwdrivers

Weras are the best hands down IMO, obviously handles are personal preference but they’re as perfect as it gets for me, combine that with the features they offer like the lasertips, holding function, striking caps etc. can always put as much torque as my hand is able to turn it without slipping...

I question if it is really necessary to return clicker torque wrenches to there lowest value

Consider the effect of fatigue on metals that leads to breakages of parts which were never actually bent or deformed in any way, even relatively small amounts of stress can have a minute effect that adds up over time. You wouldn’t notice this in car springs or magazines unless they actually...

I question if it is really necessary to return clicker torque wrenches to there lowest value

Seriously it’s a waaaay better design that they use, that and the far louder and more tactile click makes it my go-to and really makes me wonder why nobody else seems to go with it or anything similar, decades and decades of r&d across hundreds of companies and almost all of them still use the...

    Best precision 1/4" drive bits?

Wera is exactly what you’re looking for and their bit cases are awesome too, i use the gold colored diamond bits, not cheap but surprisingly they do work really well and even more surprisingly the coating doesn’t just wear off after a few uses, only bits I’ve been able to use to drive...

Favorite Non Tool Truck Brand Sockets

I use 1/4 as a rule unless i need bigger, wera is some of the best I’ve used really like both the color coding, knurling and the “rail” they use, plastic pegs where you twist the socket a little, it clicks and then comes off freely. Aside from little bonus features like that a socket is pretty...

I question if it is really necessary to return clicker torque wrenches to there lowest value

I’d be surprised if it mattered THAT much, but doesn’t hurt to just do it either. Springs usually take a long time and only with a lot of tension on them to start losing their shape so i could see leaving it maxed or high up for awhile throwing it off eventually One of those things that’s...

Found these poor snap on tools outside my dads property. Best way to tackle the rust.

Yea evaporust is a good idea, but it doesn’t penetrate too well so depending how bad it is those adjustables are gonna need some work after the soak, should have seen my dad’s poor snap-on that got left out by the grill for years after a propane tank change that thing was beyond seized up. a...

I guess Wiha has given up pretending to be premium tools?

Right of course, that’s why outside of certain few products that fall under the categories you mentioned (I would add, high quality/expensive goods that carry a strong reputation to that list) the US alongside most 1st world nations are transitioning to or already are mostly a service economy...

I guess Wiha has given up pretending to be premium tools?

Since this is a COO thread….. I can almost guarantee anybody that claims to care about the humanitarian/political/anything other than cost vs quality aspect exclusively does so for something they’re really in to, in this case, tools. Speaking as an enthusiast in both, How many give a **** where...

    Best locking pliers comparison

I really don’t think they were ever anywhere close to as bad as they’re made out to be, just like how vintage craftsman was never anywhere near as good as it’s made out to be. When there’s any significant change made to a well known and loved product people tend to act like it’s completely...

I guess Wiha has given up pretending to be premium tools?

Can’t say what they once were, but I’ve certainly never gotten anything less than an excellent product from them and prices aren’t usually too bad. Lots of unique and useful designs too like the bicut side cutters and magictip snap ring pliers (really need to pick up the latter)

Duly noted, I will try that next time and probably not get back to you But if I remember after I try that whenever the next time I need to reload one is, I will certainly revive this thread if it works!
